Miss Joan Leach, daughter of
Mrg. Jennie Leach, was honored
at a charming surprise bridal
shower recently at the home of
Miss Sonia Lander on the Garden
Valley Road.
Game were played with Mrs.
C. V. Stanton and Miss Georgiana
Heinz taking prizes. After the
bride-elect had opened many beau
tiful gifts, lovely refreshments
were served by Miss Lander and
Miss Marilyn Myers.
The table was decorated with a
sheet cake with two pink hearts
on it containing the bride and
bridegroom-elect's names, and
two white tapers.

A surprise farewell party for
Mrs. Aulda Bod in was held by the
Zuleima Nile Club Thursday eve
nine. The affair was held in the
beautiful garden at the residence
of Mrs. Sie Fett. Kefresnments
were served on a large table decor
ated with a bouquet of golden glow
and dahlias. Large red dahlias
were floated in the fountain. Or

Mrs. Carlson wore a soft grey
gown with irridescent sequin bodice
and mauve-colored hat and acces
sories. The bridegroom s mother
wore a champagne colored dress
with dark brown hat and acces
sories. Her corsage was of red
rosebuds.
The reception followed in the
beautiful garden at the Carlson
home. The bride's table was
centered by the elaborately decor
ated and tiered wedding cake
topped by a silver cup bearing the
date and the names of the bride
and bridegroom.
Following the wedding recep
tion, Dr. and Mrs. Carlson enter
tained the bridal party and out-of.
town guests at a dinner. They also
entertained the bridal party and

party following the wedding re
hearsal Friday evening. The Mon
day before the wedding, the bride
entertained members of her bridal
party at a charming affair, at
which time she presented gifts to
them.

ternity, majored in radio at Uni
versity of Oregon and is now em-
