which they stayed was also a

with their son-in-law and daugh

ers, and baby son. Michael Davis,

Carol. Mrs. Rogers is the former
Marian Church.

Leaves For San Francisco Miss
Margaret Joyce, chief dietician at
the Veterans Hospital in Rose
burg. left Thursday night for
San Francisco to remain over un
til the first of the week. Recently,
Miss Joyce and Mrs. Celia Day
of Roseburg enjoyed a trip to
Vancouver, Wash., to spena a lew
days visiting Gold a Bea! in her
new home. The latter was with
the Veterans Hospital here until
a short time ago.
Spend Weak In Portland Mr.
and Mrs. J. 0. Carr of Roseburg
returned recently from a week in
Portland. They visited Mrs. Carr's
brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and
Mrs, Duane Harvey, and family;
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Rand, Mr.
and Mrs. Rodney Laugen and Mr.
and Mrs. Donald R. Walworth and
their families. Mrs. Rand is the
aunt of Mrs. Carr and Mrs. Laug
en, the former Edith Rand of Rose
burg, is her cousin.

Snowy Campsite

Troop 125, James Fuller, and his
family, Assistant Scoutmaster and
Mrs. Keith McGinnis. and Paul
'Slrahan explorer advisor, and
hit son. Bob, traveled to Union
Creek March 7 to choose a site tr
hold a winter snow camp for the
scouts, planned for the weekend
of March 19. It was agreed to
camp above Union Creek at or
near the ski track where there is
about three feet of snow and the
sports of sking and tabogganing
can be enjoyed.
Hold Honor Court
Canyonville Scout Troop 125
held a court of honor Wednesday
with parents, friends and repre
sentatives of the Lions Club and
the Odd Fellows attending.
A charter was presented to the
VFW, sponsors of the troop, and
it was received by OrviUe Stone.
Awards were made to Laurel Gie
sler, Paul Thompson and Donald
Summers, in the tenderfoot group,
and to Philip Stevens, Marlin
Theiss, Paul Parret, David Pitts
and Ralph Grunsts in the second
class.
Merit badges for swimming
were awarded Leon Oaks and Alan
Russet and first aid to Larry Ful
ler. George Updegraff, District O
& E representative, presented
the charter and gave a talk on
cub scouting, The scouts played a
lively game of kickbaU to con
clude the evening's program.

Mrs. Charles Rimmel and Mrs.
Viola King spent three days in
Portland last week on a shopping
tour.
Mr. and Mrs. S. Ferche of Rose
burg were dinner guests of the
Oscar Haversons on Sunday,
Mrs. Robert Shaffer spent the

Pearson, 'an old friend.
Mrs. R. L. Couglar is spending
two weeks in Portland, visiting.
