The "Voice" Itself has not been
broadcasting anything about the
inquiry into its operations by a
Senate committee headed by Sen.
McCarthy (R-Wis). A spokesman
said the State Department radio
"never carries anything about It
self pro or con."
The Warsaw Radio, in a Polish
domestic broadcast recorded by
by U.S. government monitors, said
that the most damaging testimony
before the McCarthy committee
was that the "Voice" was inef
fective abroad.
This is what has stirred the "in
dignation of the infamous Mc
Carthy," said Warsaw. It referred
to the "Voice" staff as "a crim
inal gang gathered for spread
ing hatred and crime."
