Funeral services for Manuel
Munson, 70, of Myrtle-Creek, who
died at Douglas Community Hos
pital Tuesday, will be held in the
chapel of Ganz Mortuary Saturday
at 1 p.m. Rev. Harold Burelson,
pastor of the Myrtle Creek Metho
dist Church will officiate. Inter
ment will be in Wilderville Cem-
Clorenee Perkins Dies
At Coos Boy, Aged 69
Clarence Perkins, 69, well known
in Roseburg, died Sunday at Coos
Bay, where he had made his home
fpr the past 35 years. He was as
sociated in the grocery business
for many years with R. C. Dun
ham, and later operated his own
grocery business in Coos Bay. His
widow and a son, Edward, the lat
ter a resident of Portland, survive.
He was a brother of the late Mrs
Ben Chilson of Roseburg. Funeral
services were held in Coos Bay
Tuesday.

Ore., he was married in Grants
Pass Nov. 26' 1900. He came to
Myrtle Creek in 1946 from Etna,
Calif. He was a retired logger.
Surviving are the widow, Belle;
son, Orvan; daughter, Mrs. Olivia
Inlow, all of Myrtle Creek; bro
ther, W. H. Munson, Etna, Calif.:
a half brother, Frank Jackson,
Yreka. Calif., and four grandsons.

Resident 30 Years, Dies
Benjamin Frank Streit, 80, resi
dent of Roseburg for 30 years,
died suddenly early today at the
home of his sister, Mrs. Flora Hess,
on South Stephens St.
He was born at Beaver Falls,
Penn., Feb. 17, 1872, and was mar
ried to Emmer Dobson at Wright,
Minn., in 1896. She died several
years ago.
Surviving are four sisters, Mrs.
Mary Zuehlke, Stewartville, Minn.;
Mrs. Anna Smilh, St. Paul, Minn.;
Mrs. T. W. Delancy and Mrs. Hess,
both of Roseburg.
Funeral services will be held In
the chapel of Long & Orr Mor
turary Fridav at 2 p.m. with the
Rev. R. V. Kleinfeldt of the First
Christian Church officiating. Con
cluding services will follow in Civil
Bend Cemetery.

Church of the Nazarene.
While with the Army, the Rev.
Moore was twice captured,
twice liberated and twice
bombed. In his book, "Pris
oners of the German's." he
tells of his experiences. He
served as professor of Biblical
literature in Bethany-Peniel
College from 1946 until 1948.
