THE "WHAT FOUR" quartet, above, from Klamath Falls,
will participate in the Roseburg "Parade of Quartets"
scheduled here April 26. ,The quartet was organized sev
eral years ago and has been active in barber shop singing
along the Pacific Coast. Recently they were publicized in
a Saturday Evening Post article describing Klamath Falls.

Southern College of Education,
Ashland, will be held March 24,
according to Mabel W. Winston,
registrar.
Classes will reconvene the follow
ing day and the term will continue
through June 6.
An eight-week summer session
will begin June 16.
Forty-four Douglas County stu
dents were enrolled in the college
during winter quarter.

Oregon Teachers' Cours:

Board of Higher Education
Wednesday named Dr. Earl W.
Anderson of Ohio State University
executive secretary and research
director of the Oregon teacher edu
cation survey.
The survey was authorized by
the board in January. Dr. Ander
son will spend a week in Oregon
in April, returning June 15 to com
plete the study, Viron A. Moore,
acting chairman of the Survey
Advisory Committee, said. . .
The State System of Higher
Education now has three colleges
assigned to elementary teacher
education, with the University of
Oregon and Oregon State College
assigned secondary teacher educa
tion.

Reliability Run
Driver Chuck Barron and his
navigator, Lyle Wescott, in. car
No. 1, won the Roseburg DuSters
Club's 200-mile reliability run last
Sunday, scoring 49S points from a
possible 500.
There were 12 cars entered In
the run. Second place went to Jim
Godfrey, driver- and his navigator,
Tom Bentley in car No. 7, who
came in with a total of 492 points.
Third place was won by Doug
Moore, driver, and AI Sullivan,
navigator, In car No. 4, with 490
points.
First prize was a set of John
well custom seat covers, given by
the Johnwell Upholstery Co. Sec
ond place prize was given by the
Dusters club, a chicken dinner
with all the trimmings for the
driver and navigator, and third
place prize was a grease job, giv
en by Ken Ellison's Mobilgas Serv
ice Station. Also free movie passes
to the Roseburg theaters were giv
en to the driver and navigator of
the first three places.

success, were State Police Officer
Marvin Doty; Bob Elliott, manag
er of the Pine Motor Theater, and
Walt Wallen. -

Set Of False Teeth
DECATUR, 111. W When four
year old Joseph Michael Doolin
smiles, he displays a rare set of
false teeth.
Only five of Joe's teeth are his
own. His baby teeth were poor,
so a dentist pulled all but five
on Feb. 13 and installed dentures.
Joe gets along fine. Apples,
caramels and bubble ,gum don't
faze him.
With minor adjustments, his
store teeth are expected to last
Joe until his permanent teeth come
in a couple of years.
County Future Farm
Status To Be Talked
Long-range plans for the county's
agricultural future will be discus
sed at a meeting Friday morning
at 10 in the basement of the Post
Office.
J. Roland Parker, county agri
cultural agent, said representatives
of the various farming industries
in the county will be represented.
