Feb. 9,' 1952 A DELIGHTFUL BIRTHDAY PARTY was held at trie Jack Chapman home on South Kane Street Feb. 1, honoring Gwen McLaughlin, who was five Jan. 13; and Gail McLaughlin, who was four Feb. I. In the lower picture, Gwen and Gail, left and right, pose with their sister, Laurie Jo, who was a year old Jan. 2. They are the three daughters of Mr. and Mrs. R. Eldon McLoughlin, who also have a son, born Jan. 9, 1952. GEORGE MARSTERS JR., HONORED AT PINK AND BLUE SHOWER IN ROSEBURG HOME Mrs. George Marsters Jr.. of Medford, Ore., was pleasantly sur prised Friday evening at the borne of her aunt, Mrs. Fred Bowen, with a pink and blue shower. Mrs. Bowen was assisted by Mrs. W. T. Stitlner. A large cake tooued with pink roses and a pair of tiny 6luebooties and a pink and blue bassins hold ing doll, formed the table decor ations. Baby pictures were arranged about the rooms. Mrs. Howard Crook, at the piano, played ' Brahms Lullaby as the hostesses presented the guest of honor with a bassinet full of lovely gifts. The evening was spent playing gnmes and visiting. Prizes went to Mrs. Adrian Bowen and Mrs. Mar tha Brown. J. Fett, Mrs. Ulenn scon and Mrs. Leroy Hiatt at ttie lat ter's home. The McCarls recently became parents of son, Brian Douglas. Proceeds of 522 went to benefit th Camas Valley PTA. PAST MATRONS CLUB MEETS AT HERCHER HOME Past Matrons Club of Roseburg Chapter No. 8, 0. E. S., met at the home of Mrs. Florence Her cber in Dillard Monday evening for the regular dessert - supper and business meeting. Hostesses for the evening were: Mrs. Her- cher, Mrs. H. H. LGENEVA GUILD MEETS TUESDAY AT EVANS HOME Geneva Guild of the First Pres byterian Church met Tuesday at the home of Mrs. David Evans on Winchester Street. Mrs. James Loomis, president. opened and conducted the business meeting. A program based on the study of Missions of the Presby terian Church within the United States was adopted for the com ing year. HOLDS RECENT MEETING The Decree of Honor Protective Association met Thursday in the American Legion Hall for instal lation of officers. They were installed by Sister Ethel Lindholm Hiatt, national treasurer and state director of Portland who was assisted by Al pha Newman, state . second vice president and district organizer of Grants Pass and Mary Drake, past president of Grants Pass. Those installed included: pres ident, Fern Hobday; vice pres ident, Evelyn Frazier, second vice president, Sadie Stack; past pres ident, Mary Curtis; secretary, Vir- ginia Welch; treasurer, Bertha Shrum; usher, Thella Webber; as sistant usher, Dorene Wheeler; flag bearer, Kay Snyder; pianist, Arvetta Green and juvenile dir ector, Helen Fenwick. The business meeting was con ducted by the vice president, Mrs. Dale Roles. A Centennial party was planned for the latter part of the month and committees were appointed for the affair. . Committees reported on the spring dance, which will be an vent of March. Following the business meeting, a social hour was enjoyed with Mrs. Marvin Doty winning the (rand prise.
