The meeting was opened with the president, Mrs. Frank Hol lingsworth, in charge. Hymns were sung by the group and fol lowed with a prayer by Mrs. W. E. Bicknell. Devotions were given by Mrs. Helen Simons. Mrs. Maude Doughty had charge of the mis sionary program. Mrs. W. E. Bick nell and Mrs. Doughty gave read ings. The business meeting loi- lowed and a box of clothing was sent to a needy family of Rose burg and two other boxes are going to be packed for the Rainbow mission in Arizona. The meeting closed with i prayer by Mrs. Helen Moreno. During the social hour the ladies cut quilt blocks and Mrs. Helen Simons and Mrs. Maude Doughty served refreshments. The next meeting wiil be Thurs day afternoon, Dec. 6, at the church. All ladies are asked to be firesent and are asked to bring arge eyed needles. Sued Over Employee's Death PORTLAND UP) A widow has filed a 150,000 suit in federal court here against the Iverson Lumber company of Douglas county. Mrs. Margaret Guider asked the money for the death of her hus band, Joseph, 44. She contends a defective saw threw a piece of lumber at her husband, killing him last March. Mrs. Guider who now lives in Alabama, accused the company of negligence in not repairing the equipment.
