These theories were advanced by Dr. R. W. Parnell of the depart ment of social medicine of Ox ford university. "In all behavior physique plays a large part," he told the British Association for the Advancement of Science. Dr. Parnell reported on his re search into the relationship be tween physique and work, play habits, illness and lawbreaking. Dr. Parnell said total abstainers from alcohol are most often found among those of a light build. "Indigestion is commonest In men dominantly muscular 1 n build," he said. "It is commonest In the lean and muscular and less common in the fat and muscular. Very fat and very Janky men have Indigestion much less often," he declared. Persons suffering nervous ten sion in Interviews or examinations, he added, are more commonly the lean and muscular build. Dr. Parnell even reached into a reformatory to make his compar isons. He contrasted the build of women university students with young women in a corrective Insti tution. He reported there Is a tendency for young women delinquents to be stocky, but not necessarily short. CLOSING OUT 1. Fiction 2. Mysteries 3. Children's Book's 4. Moot industry officials got word of the contemplated price boosts from aides of price controls boss Michael DiSalle and expected to get further details at a meeting with DiSalle himself. Housewives probably will have to pay the penny or two extra a pound for beef round cuts. But ceilings on hamburger are likely to remain unchanged and some few price cuts on loin and rib cuts are expected. But Office of Price Stabilization offi' ials made it clear to industry leaders at a meeting yesterday that there will be a general boost in beef prices. They said the higher prices are required under the new defense production act to compen sate the industry for lagging cat tle by-product yields. The new law, under which mo bilization officials have said liv ing costs may go up five to eight percent, requires 'ceilings to be fixed so that normal profit mar gins are preserved. Officials said prices for cattle hides now are about 25 percent below ceilings and tallow prices about 33 percent under ceilings, so greater profits from beef are needed to preserve the industry's profit position. Tallow and hide ceilings are to be adjusted down ward when the beef price boosts go into effect probably in a month or two. Earlier this year, DiSalle bunched a beef price cutting pro gram, involving a series of roll backs, designed to lower beef prices by a dime-a-pound this au tumn. The meat industry argued that this program would discour age beef production and Con gress barred further beef price cuts.
