H. L. (Leslie) McHenry, Port
land, formerly with the Douglas
county roadmaster's office in
Roseburg, has been named to Gen.
Dwight D. Eisenhower's staff as

He stopped In Delhi, Minn., to
visit his mother and an aunt. He
drove his car east, which will be
sent overseas with him. He will
report at Fort Hamilton, Brook
lyn, N. Y Aug. 29, 'to sail for
Paris, where he will maintain his
headquarters for two years.
Prior to leaving for the east,
he came to Roseburg to say good
bye to his mother-in-law and brother-in-law,
Mrs. George Kohlhagen
and Edward G. Kohlhagen. He
was accompanied here by bis wife,
the former Florence Kohlhagen, of
Roseburg.
After he becomes settled In Paris,
be will be joined by his wife and
their daughter, Florence Ann. The
latter was graduated from Oregon
State college in June. Mrs. Mc
Henry has been asked by the Port
land newspapers to write articles
for them regarding the European
situation.

McHenry will serve as technical
adviser and consultant and have
charge of all structural work for
the multi-million dollar military

He will also inspect American en
gineering methods, airfields, bak

When McHenry first went to
Portland in 1922, he was with the
General Electric company and
then later with the State Highway
