The event held special meaning
to all members of the Winston
church, as it represents much hard
work on their part. The church
was organized just a year ago, and
for the lack of a public meeting
place, met at the Dwight David
son home for Sunday services un
til the present building could be
sufficiently completed to house the
group.
It is almost completed now, an
accomplishment which appeared
almost impossible twelve months
ago. It boasts a "fine Sunday
school" and is reported to hsve
prospered financially under the
leadership of the pastor and his
wife, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mc
Donald, of the N.C.C. in Eugene,

lan McLennans of Brockway were
Mr. and Mrs. Norman McLennan,
Mr. and Mrs. Neil McLennan and
daughter. Nancy, all of Los An
geles, California.
The quests arrived in Oregon Fri
day night after having traveled
over ten thousand miles on a
month's tour of the United States
and Canada. Beginning in South
ern California, the McLennans
traveled to Florida via the Gulf
Coast Henr to New York, Wash
ington. D. C, Detroit and Ontario,
Canada. The party then made their
way west through north central
states where they missed th Mis
sissippi flood waters by a few
hours.
Mr. and Mrs. Allan McLennan
entertained their weekend guests
Saturday night with a delicious
turkey dinner. Present for the eve
ning were: Mr. and Mrs. Jack Wil
ton and Johnny, Mr. and Mrs.
George Wilton and Claudia, Pat
tricia, Suzanne and Jackie McLen
nan, Marvin Covey and the hon
ored guests from Los Angeles.
Guests at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Walter Mnidlestadt over the
past weekend were the letter's
parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Fisher
of Eugene, and their young

Mr. and Mrs. Stanford Buell re
turned Wednesday evening from a
two weeks' tour of the midwest
era states. They took the Port
land Rose to North Platte, Nebr.
and purchased a new Pontiac.
From there they motored through
the southern states to New Or
leans, where they took all of the
tours available around the new and
old French quarters of the his
torical city. Mr. and Mrs. Buell
enjoyed dining at th famous An
toines restaurant.
Traveling through Texas they
visited many interesting points. In
New Mexico they toured the Carls
bad Caverns. Returning horn
they stopped over night in Reno.
Guests at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Wiliam C. Heinbach on Mon-,
day evening were: Mr. and Mrs.'
Leo Willis, Mr, and Mrs. Harry
Bratsch and son, Gene, Mr. and
Mrs. Don Martyn and daughter,

occupying the old family home

Turlock, Calif. Monday. Dr. Wag
oner left for Albany. Mrs. Wagoner
