Communist Threat" is the theme of
two public meetings under the
leadership of Dr. Kirby Page,
noted author and Christian leader
to be held in the First Methodist
church, corner of Lane ami Main
streets. Monday, April 23 an
nounced Rev. W. A. MacArthur,
in charge of local arrangements.
The meetings are sponsored by the
Roseburg Ministerial association.
At 6:30 p.m. Monday, a politick
supper will be held in the First
Methodist church, followed by a
sound moving picture entitled
"Quaker Services in Germany."
For the 8 p. m. session Dr. Page
has chosen as his topic: "The
Christian Answer To the Commu
nist Threat." This meeting will
also be held in the First Methodist

burg are part of nation-wide tour
which Dr. Page is making under
the auspices of the American
Friends Service Committee. Con
tributions will be received at the
evening session on behalf of this
group.
The supper meeting at the First
Methodist church will be potluck,
and everyone is asked to bring
their own picnic basket.
Dr. Page is best known as the
author of 28 volumes and 20 pam
phlets, many of which have been
translated jnto foreign languages.
Among his books are "The Will of
God For These Days" and "T h e
Light Is Still Shining In The Dark
ness" His most recent book is
"Living Joyously." He is widely
known for his dynamic speaking
ability.
