Feindale TVash., have announced
the arrival of a baby daughter,
Shirley Anne, born Oct. 28, weigh
ing 7 pounds, 3 ounces. This is the
first grandchild of Mr and Mrs,
P. B. (Joins and the first great
grandchild of Mrs. Flora V. Holt.
Mr. and Mrs. Coins are going to
Fernriale to see the new grand
daughter. . . .

Wednesday and Thursday at the
Itobert Gordineer home. The
Gordtneers' now live in their new
home on Pheasant Creek. Several
of their near neighbors gateyred
at their home last Saturday even

ing. A movie sponsored by the school
Booster's Flub, was shown at the
schoolhouse Saturday evening with
a good-sized crowd in attendance.
Refreshments were served to the
group and .the children played

The Bob Oatney and Ira Basinger
familys moved to Rogue River last
weekend.
The Leo Thompson family re
cently returned to Gold Hill to re
side. Miss Patty is slaying with
her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.
John R. Sowles, and is attending
Drain high school.
The night shift at the veneer
mill has been laKl off until Nov.
20 due to a lack of logs. The saw
mill is also shut down.
Jack Kerr is spending a fe,w days
here with his wife at the Mearham
home while being transferred to
another army camp.
Mr. and Mrs. Carl Madison and
Betty of Kellogg, visited at the
Robert Gordineer home Saturday
and Sunday.
Mrs. Florence Marvick returned
by plane to Portland Sunday from
Missoula, Mont., where her hus
band met her, returning home Sun
day evening. 1
Robert Kohr is here staying at
the Hetrick home.
An open meeting will be held
Monday, Nov. 6 at 1:30 p m. with
Mrs. Tanner at Anlauf lodge. Mrs.

ganizinp a home extension unit.

The Robert Gordineer home was
the scene of a Halloween party
Friday evening when 32 youngsters
gathered to enjoy t he hospitality
of the Gordineer family. A special
treat was the showing of a movie
comedy, after which games were
played. Refreshrnnts of cake and
ice cream were served to the
group. Others enjoying the evening
besides the children were Mr. and
Mrs. Harold Burge and Tommy,
Mrs. Joe Sarrate and Mr. and Mrs.
John Jacob. Mrs. Sarrate ia a
sister of Mrs. Gordineer.
Mr. 'Hartman from Portland is
staying at the Redifer home and
is planning to work at Drain,

Sailors Union Ends Irs

Lundeberg, head of the AFL Sail
ors Union of the Pacific, says his
union has withdrawn its embargo
on the port of Coos Bay, Ore.
"We won our beef with the long
shoremen," he commented. "They
fohled up."
