Rookie Cop Kills Vet In Battle PHILADELPHIA .T -While terrified passensert huddled in one end of a cir, a rookie policeman (hot and killed a 22-year-old navy veteran during a fight a) a aubway train. Samuel S. Ellis Jr., died Sunday about an hour after he was shot by Edward Rouch, 23. Witne'ssea told police Ellis at tacked rouch with a knife shortly after two companions left the sub way. Police were seeking the two companions for questioning. They quoted witnessei as saying they and Ellis had been fighting and that one of the men was believed to have been stabbed by Ellis. Rouch came out of the battle with knife wounds of the face, head and left arm, a bruijed abdomen where Ellis had kicked him, and a bite wound of the left hand. He had just finished a tour of duty as part of his police college training when he boarded the sub way. No charges have been filed against the rookie policeman. Camas Valley By MRS.
