NEW YORK - (IP) A mother
looked at photograph, described
as showing American soldiera in a
North Korean prisoner of war
camp, and exclaimed:
"Yea, that's Billie."
The photograph, one of several
of similar scenes distributed by the
Associated Press, was the first
intimation Mrs. William H. Si ins
bury of Kansas City, Mo., had of
the fate of her son. He was re
ported missing in action July S.
The Associated Press obtained
the photoa from Eastfoto, a New
York picture agency, which said it
received them from the China
Photo service in Peiping, China.
Mrs. Stansbury said in Kansas
City:
"It's a rcl'.ef to know what hap
pened to him. You just are notified
that he has disappeared and then
no one knows anything. It's a lot
better to know."
Her husband declined to confirm
the identification. But other mem
bers of the Stansbury family
agreed it was Billy even though
the picture caption aa received
from China spelled the family
name aa Tonesbury.
