CHICAGO UP) The police
ban on the showing of a movie,
"No Way Out," in Chicago has
been protested by the National As
sociation (or the Advancement of
Colored People and six other or
ganizations. The ban against showing the
Twentieth Ccntuiy-Fox film here
was recommended by Capt. Harry
Fuliner. in charge of the police
censor division.
Fulmer said he told Police Com
missioner John Prendergast the
film was "something that might
cause more racial unrest than we
have now." He said his office
"held up the permit" on the film,
which portrays alleged prejudices
met by a Negro doctor in prac
ticing his profession.
"We already have a (racial)'
problem without adding to it,"
Fulmer said. H.
The protests were made to
Mayor Martin H. Kennelly.
