Less In Dillard Fire
Estimated Near $12,000
The two barns and granary
which burned Sunday south of Dil
lard were located on the property
of Mr. Victor Phipps and Helen
Phipps. The property previously
had been leased by Abner Kice
and some of his equipment still
stored in the barns, along with
some hay, was lost.
Mrs. Phipps reported that the
loss was estimated at from $10,000
to $12,000, although a complete in
ventory of the contents had not
been made. The buildings were
not covered by insurance, nor was
the equipment, baled hay and
grain. A small amount of alfalla
stored in the barn was insured, she
said. Hardly anything of value was
saved.
The larger of the two barnes
had stood for many years, but
was still considered to be in good
condition. A new roof was put on
last year.
