Assets Will Be Sold
WASHINGTON. April 27.-
The Reconstruction Finance Cor
poration took formal action Wednes

company, prefabricated housing
concern at Columbus, Ohio.
The board of directors instructed
RFC attorneys to ask the federal
district court at Columbus to fix a
date for sale of assets of Lustron,
now in receivership.
The RFC, which lent $37,500,000
to Lustron, brought about the re
ceivership when the concern was
unable to meet repayment schedules.

Job Applicant
Must Give Proof
Of His Ability
(Ed. Note: This is the third in
a series of articles on the Oregon
State Employment service, listing
its facilities for offering services
to the community, employer and
worker.)
Any person may apply for work
at an office of the Orexou Stale
Employment service. But the ap
plication must set forth resl abil
ity to work and proper quali
fications if a suitable job is to
be found.
At the first interview in the Rose
burg office, background informa
tion which may be all important
in the placement process is se
cured. As the "eyes and ears" for
employers in the community, em
ployment deputies are trained to
secure facts and impressions that
may help greatly in fitting the ap
plicant into his proper job.
Complete details concerning ed
ucation, training, skills, and work
history all are basic in con
sidering referrals to listed open
ings. And on the other hand per
sonal traits, preferences, charac
teristics and aptitudes often are
just as important in bringing to
gether the job and worker.
Monthly Reports "Mutt"
Identifying and personal data
such as residence, social security
number, sex or marital status
are secured from all applicants
But the color of his necktie or the
way her lipstick is dabbed on may
be even more significant to the
employment deputy or employer
in rating the prospect.
Work applications are "purged",
or made current, at least every
30 days. Every person seeking a
job should report to the local of
fice at least once a month, or often-
er during a period of rapid
turnover. Every additional bit ol
employment information is added
to the applicant's work-history.
With an "active file" composed
of thousands of these work-histories,
offices of the O.S.E.S. can
select the best qualified persons
for any kind of job. This real
community service is free to em
ployer and employe alike.
