Tulips and hyacinths were used
as decorations for the recepiton.
The beautifully decorated three-
tiered wedding cake waa cut and
served with ice-cram and coffee.

SQUARE DANCE ACTIVITIES
Olalla-Tenmile Extension unit
made plana for a square dance
when they met Tuesday, Feb. 28
at the Olalla hall for an all-day
meeting. The dance will be sche
rtnled in April with Minnie Lock
wood as chairman. Proceeds will
benefit the Azalea House fund.
The unit voted to send ten cents
per member to the county treas
urer to assist in sending a rural
homemaker to the A.C.W.W. in
Denmark in September.

meeting of Victory Circle of the
First Baptist church meeting
Thursday afternoon at the home
of Otie Harris with Rosa Hearn as
co-hostess. A pink and blue shower

group sewed on a quilt and white
cross work after the buiness and
devotional hour.

hall Monday evening. Her talk was
based on the principals and merita
of the Business and Professional
Women's club and what a member
gets out of it. She slated that the
organisation is divided into regions
and that the first meeting waa held
in -Oregon.

arship that they help from all coun
tries of the universe. Chinese nurs
ing ia also a project at Oregon
State college. The girla planning
to be nurses return to their native
land to assist in that line of work.

Gladys Foley of Roseburg told
of a radio program held one week.
V. Vivian Logsdon also gave a
short talk hitting on the principal
points of interest and stated that
she had attended a club meeting
recently at Beaverton, which waa
interesting and instructive.
No definite answer waa given
whether the Sutherlin club would
affiliate with the state and nation
al Women's club at this time. The
decision waa left for further dis
cussion. Mr. Halverson, scout leader of
Sutherlin was introduced and gave
a talk on what it meant for the
boys to go to the Scout Jamboree
at Valley Forge in June. He stated
that three boys from Sutherlin,
Ronald Elliott, Ronald Stribbling
and Chuck Enyart, had earned
their share of money for the trip.
The balance waa to be raised by
the American Legion.
The boys will spend one week
enroute. They first will go to Eu
gene where they will board a spe
cial Scout train and will travel
south spending a day or so in
California; thence to Denver, St.
Louis and spend two days in Wash
ington, D.C, where they will visit
the White House. From there they
will go to Valley Foree and n.nH
on k in Boy Scout activities.
From Valley Forge they will go
to New York, Niagara Falls, into
Canada and from there to Chicago
