One operation, the Coos Bay Lumber company, had iS over weight citiations against it pend ing in the Coquille justice court The cited violations covered a per iod from August 22, 1M, to Dec ember 29, 1M9. The Updegrave Truck company, also log hauler, had the next largest list of violation citations pending on January 23. Listed against Its name in the Roseburg burg and Sutherlin Justice courts; the Loa Angelse-Seattle Motor Ex press with ten violations citations pending in Roseburg and Eugene Justice courts. Permit Less Paced One of the factors pointed out to the commission for the alow processing of the citations is the heav; load of business in many dis trct attorney's office. The district attomeya are supposed to prosecute the overweight cases, but in many instances, according to the com mission's legal staff, have .not found time to do it. The commission at Its last meet- . ; ing asked both Governor McKay and Attorney General Neuner for their assistance in solving the pro blem which the commission feared was thwarting its efforta to keep the trucks within the weight bounds set by law. A survey made by the commis sion showed that on last January 23 there were 1038 overweight tic kets passed out by the commis sion's weight masters pending ac tion in the state's M justice courts. courts accounted for the majority o the delayed cases and the hea viest backlog of unfinished busi ness waa naturally in those com munities around which the logging industry now centers. The Medford justice court had 1S7 weight violation rases pending on January 23 Roseburg had 152. M Eugene there were 83, at Co quille 70 and at Sweet Home S3.
