ELGAROSf STOCK-CLUB HOLDS 4-H MEETING Elgarose 4-H Stock club held a meeting at the Elgarose school Sunday afternoon with Andrew Hanson, local club leader. HCLDS MEETING AFTER POTLUCK LUNCHEON Women's Society of Christian Service of Dillard enjoyed a pot luck luncheon at the Dillard church Thursiay, Feb. 16 with Mrs. Jo Leaner, hostess, assisted oy Mrs. Lulu Fost. Mrs. Mercy Buell presided dur ing the business session and sing ing was led by Mrs. Bert Laurance. : -s. Rosa Heinback conducted roll call with each member responding with a memory verse. SUTHERLIN BUSINESS WOMEN ENJOY MEETING MONDAY An enjoyable evening was spent by the members of the Sutherlin Associated Business Women s club Monday evening when they were entertained by Mrs. Lou Mae ' sliburn. Miss Francis Torrey, Mrs. Helen Brown. Mrs. Maude Culv. and Mrs. Dorothy Rose. Refreshemtns were served buffet style at a table centered with silvered pussywillows. BROCK WAY 4-H CLUBS DEMONSTRATION The Brockway 4-H clubs held their meeting Tuesday, Feb. 14 at thu home of Joy Zeller, who gave the clothing club i short demon stration on telling new pattern sty ' from old. The styles and ma terials f r the girls' project dresses were discussed. The cooking club made plans (or a potluck supper to be held in the future. Plans were made for the next meeting and refre-hmenta were served by the hostess, Mrs. Zeller. These clubs have been holding regular meetings every two eeks sine their organization last fall with the girls and the leader giv i regular demonstrations on var ious phases of 4-H club work. WINCHESTER UNIT TO MEET ON THURSDAY Winchester Extension unit will meet at the home of Lorraine Lewis Thursday-with Jesse Wonch as co hostess. BRITTAIN SLACK Jobs Daughters are sponsoring a benefit chill supper March 4, which will be held in the Masonic hall at Oakland. The menu will consist of chili, salad, pie and cof fee. They will serve from 6:30 to 7:30 and tickets may be bought at the door. After the supper cards will be played. A chili supper will be held at the Scout hall March 10, and serv ing will start at i o'clock and con tinue until midnight. All food will be furnished by the Scout mothers of all troops and the money will be used to build restrooms in the Scout hall. This- dinner precedes the smoker which will be held at the Legion hall for the boxing club. Billie Bulman, Grant Swanson and Nancy Stacey were confined to their homes this week with the flu. Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Browning of Blachly, Ore. spent a few hours in Sutherlin Thursday visiting with Mrs. Browning's father, Albert Slack, and grandmother, Mrs. Ida Slack. They also visited with Mr. Browning's bother-ln-law and lis ter, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Peterson. On their return trip, Mrs. Brown ing's father returned with them and will visit with his children in that vicinity, for a few days. Mrs. William Graham and her daughter, Mrs. Mildred Lund, left Wednesday for Los Angeles where Mrs. Graham will visit with her daughter, who makes her borne in Loa Angeles. Mrs. Henry Bullman shopped and transacted business in Roseburg Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Getchell left this week for Boise, Idaho, where they plan to mak- their home.
