JAMES COMBS On Sunday evening, March S, Camas Valley will be honored by a visit by the young people of Dil lard. At seven o'clock cookies and cocoa will be served at the church, and the next half hour will be spent in getting acquainted and visiting. There will be a special service fol lowing. It is hoped that all the valley will turn out to welcome these young people. Mr. and Mrs. M. A. Jones made a trip to California last weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Marcus Bbwn and son. Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Martindale went to Springfield Monday to see their new grandson. The baby's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Jim Martindale. Mrs. Story Martindale is staying in Springfield to help out for a few days. The Camas Valley Square Dance club gave a box social Tuesday evening to raise money for a micro phone lor use of the club, school or community. The girls' shad ows were sold instead of the boxes, and it was found they sold much more rapidly than the boxes. Fred Lang present caller, had al ready purchased and installed the microphone. All money left, above the price of the microphone, will go to buy new records. Spring has arrived at last In Camas Valley and to prove it the daffodils are from four to six inches above the ground. The Crenshaw mill has resumed operations after several months' shut down. Philip Johnson has ordered a new T.D. 24 International for his logging operations. Mrs. Jane Cappioua has had a relapse and has been taken back to the Mercy hospital. She was home only one week. Mr. and Mrs. Noble Standley and Mr. and Mrs. Philip Standley have returned from a vacation into Mexico. Mr. and Mrs. D. M. Libby and two sons, Donnie and Robbie of Empire visited at the home of Mrs. I.ibby's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Martindale over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Heilman have installed a new neon sign and elec tric clock in front of the Camas Valley store. There will be a special grange meeting March 2 in order to ini tiate new members.
