Vets Told How To A tour-point reminder which will assist World War II veter ans in keeping their national ser vice life Insurance In lorce with little difficulty has been Issued by the veterans administration. Here are the four points: 1. Checks, money orders or pos tal notes sent to the VA in pay ment of NSLI premiums should be made payable to the Treasurer of the United States and not to the VA or to an individual or to cash. 2. Checks, money orders and postal notes should be Identified with the name and address of the veteran, as well as his insurance number nad service serial num ber. 3. Veterans shouldn't take chances by waiting until near the end of the 31-day grace period before mailing the VA their pre mium payment. By waiting, they run the risk of allowing their in surance to lapse. 4. Veterans making premium payments by mail should use the premium envelopes furnished by the VA. If they do not use this en velone. thev should identify fully the remittance by giving full name, address, insurance number and armed forces serial number. Sat., Dec. 31, 1949 Ex-Gangster, In Delusion, Kills Wife By Mistake CHICAGO, Dec. 31. VP) A one-time gangster whose testi mony sent his pals to prison 16 years ago, awoke in a daze ea- - Friday and fatally shot his wife, thinking "my old gang had come to get me." Police Capt. John Enright said Julius Jones, 52, told him he fired on his wife, Grace, 45, and a man Jones had paid to escort her home from a neighborhood tavern. The man, John Fitzgerald, 50, was wounded slightly on the scalp and one ear. Mrs. Jones died of a bul let wound in the abdomen. Capt. Enright quoted Jones as saying he had been living in fear of his life since he turned state's evidence in a kidnaping case in 1933. When Mrs. Jones and Fitzger ald entered the Jones apartment early today, Jones said, he started up from his sleep and began fir ing. "I thought members of my old gang had come to get me," he told police.
