Back From Bend Mr. and Mrs. William Bayless have re turned to their home in Rose burg, following a trip to Bend, Ore., to spend Christmas with their daughter-in-law and her children. Pfeiffers Return Horn Mr. and Mrs. George Pfeiffer have returned to their home in Rose burg from Stockton, Calif., where they were joined by friends from Los Angeles for the Christmas holiday weekend. Here From Bremerton Mr. and Mrs. James Campbell and son, George, of Bremerton, Wash., are in Roseburg visiting Mr. Campbell's mother, Mrs. George Campbell, and his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Willis Myers, and family. Vlsltort To Leave Sunday Mr, and Mrs. Fred Simpson plan to leave Sunday for their home in San Francisco, following visit over Christmas week with the latter's sister, Mrs. Ruth Keni son. Mrs. Kenison, who is a nurse, is a newcomer to Rose burg from California. Home From Portland Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Ricketts and son, Duke, are back at their home on East Lane street, fol lowing a trip to Portland to enjoy the Christmas holiday with Mrs. Ricketts' brother-in-law and sis ter, Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Katt, and family. At Murdock Home Mrs. Roh ert Bjodstrup (Helen Murdock) and baby daughter, Ann, of Port land, are spending the holidays in Roseburg with the former's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Armour Murdock, on East Oak street. Mr. Bjodstrup accompanied them here for the Christmas weekend, after which he returned to Ills work in Portland. He plans to return here to spend the New Year's weekend and will take his family back to Portland with him. Beaver returned to their home in Roseburg Wednesday, following several days in Eugene visiting their daughters, Mrs. Harold Barker, and family, and Mrs. Helen Davis. They were joined there by another son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Byron Stark, and family; Don ald, who is a student at Linfield, and Dale and Betty of Portland. Visit at Bond Home Mr. and Mrs. John Lyon and daughter, Marilyn, and son, John, have re turned to their home in Bend, following the holiday weekend in Roseburg visiting Mr. and Mrs. Theo B"rd and family on Moore street. Also guests for Christmas and this week of the Bonds re Mr. and Mrs. Jame3 Bond and daughter, Louise, of Portland, who remained over for the Job's Daughters installation of officers held last night at the Masonic temple, at which time the Theo, Bonds' daughter, Miss Rose Em ily, was installed as honored queen. Jury Panel Drawn For Next Session Of Circuit Court Selection of the jury panel to be picked for the continued No vember term of circuit court was released today by County Clerk Roy Agee. Hotel Manager Shot During Employes' Party POCATELLO, Idaho, Dec. 30. UP) William W. Shields, man ager of the Bannock hotel, was seriously wounded Wednesday night when he was shot during an employes' party at the hotel. A charge of assault with a deadly weapon was filed against Henry N. Cook by detective Guy Nelson. Shields suffered a groin wound. Employes at the party said the shooting occurred after Shields took into another room a man who had created a disturbance at the party. SATURDAY: The annual Blue-Gray football contest will be desoribed exoluslvely over the Mutual-Don Lee net work tomorrow, 11:30 a. m., PST, to conclusion. This year's game will be played at Cramton bowl, Montgomery, Ala., and feature Harry Wlimer and Jim Brltt. Immediately following the conclusion of the -Blue-Gray game, the 25th annual clash between all-star East and West football teams, a game played for the benefit of the San Francisco Shrine hospital for children, will be aired. The play-by-play broadcast will originate directly from Kezar stadium, San Francisco, and feature Mel Venter and Ernie Smith. Gov ernor Earl Warren and Harold Lloyd, Imperial potentate of the Shrine, will be heard at the half-time Intermission of the East-West game. "Comedy Playhouse," Saturday, December 31, (7-8 p. m., PST), offers the amusing complications that ensue when a landlady rents the same room to both a day and a night worker. "Box and Cox" is the title of the story and was authored by J, M. Morton. The Gold Coast Players will be featured with Jack La Frandre, writer-director, as host. "Meet the Press," Saturday, De cember 31 (8:30-9:00 p. m., PST) Secretary of Labor Maurice Tobin will be interviewed by Joseph A. Loftus of the New York Times; May Craig of the Portland (Maine) Press Herald; Blair Moody of the Detroit Times, and Windsor Booth of Time magazine.
