A delicious dinner was enjoyed at noon, after which, the last lesson of the series was held. Gifts were given by Mrs. Work man to all her students, consist ing of "green ware" ready for naintme and urine. Community singing closed the evening and Santa arrived to dis tribute candy and guts. 1 : A New Year s dance, Saturday evening, Dec. 31 is planned and all are welcome. Keiresnmenls will be served. The next Home Economics club meeting has been announced lot January 6 at the grange hall. Members are requested to be pre sent to make plans lor the com ing year. HOME ECONOMICS CLUB PLANS PENNY SUPPER Home Economic club members of evergreen grange enjoyed a meeting Thursday afternoon with Ruby Belle Kobernik, Caro lyn Dame and Minnie Kobernik in charge. Holiday decorations were arranged on the table. Gam es were played with Margaret Burt and Jessie Thomas winning prizes. Christmas carols were sung. Plans were made for a penny supper to be held January 21 at the hall with the public invited. Present were Mabel Lang, Ma bel Garrick, Gertrude Hess, Sar ah Cyrus, Ruble Bloom, Ethel Forrest, Mildred DeGnath, Mar garet Burt, Evon Wheeland, Nell Lander, Pauline Little, Minnie Wagler, Garnet Folmsbee, Ren te Jenkins. Myrtle Glenn, Mar garet McCord, Jessie Thomas and the hostesses. Next meeting will be January 12 witlt Sarah Cyrus, Myrtle Glenn and Marie Buttler as hostesses. COUNTRY CLUB NEW YEAR'S EVE DANCE RESERVATIONS CLOSED Reservations have been filled for the Roseburg Country Club's New Year's eve dance for Sat urday night, according to an an nouncement by the club pro, Norman Tauscher, and Lee Shar man, caterer. One-hundred and fourteen members and their in vited guests have made reserva tions for the affair, which pro mises to be one of the most gala events of the holiday season. A fine -orchestra has been se cured to furnish the music and a buffet supper will be served at twelve-thirty to top off the New Year s eve festivities. The clubhouse has been elabor ately decorated for the event and mmbers and their guests are anticipating a most delightful evening. STATE OFFICERS VOTED AT GRANGE MEETING DEC. 23 Evergreen grange members met Dec. 23 at the hall for pot luck supper followed by a regu lar business meeting. Committee reports were heard and state of ficers elected. Rubie Bloom, master, appoint ed Margaret McCord and Gladys Stafford as captains for the sales slip contest for the coming year. Refreshments closed the evening. At the next meeting, January 13, Elizabeth Bryce, Mr. and Mrs. G. Thomas, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Heinback, Mr. and Mrs. O. McDowell will serve on the re freshment committee. This year's game will be played at Cramton bowl, Montgomery, Alabama, on Saturday, Dec. 31, 11:30 a. m., PST, to conclusion. The broadcast will feature Harry Wismer on the play-by-play descriptions, with Jim Brltt handling the statistics and color. The Gray (South) team is com posed of 24 players from Southern colleges. It will have four members of the William and Mary team, three players each from Tulane and Texas, two each from Florida and Texas Christian and representatives from Auburn, Georgia, Mississippi Southern and Mississippi State. The Blue (North) squad will feature outstanding players from such north ern grid powerhouses as Pittsburgh, Penn State, Dartmouth, Cornell and Fordham. The 25th annual football olastlo between all-star East and West football teimi will also b presented exolueively over Mutual-Don Lee In Gillette's "Cavalcad of 8porti," This silver anniversary meeting, normally a New Year's day event, will be played this year on Saturday, Dec 31, and will follow Immediately the annual Blue-Gray game broadcast from Montgomery, Alabama. The East West broadcast will feature Ernie Smith on the play-byplay desorlptlons, with Mel Venter handling the statistics of the game, and color. The East-West and Blue-Gray games are two of the outstanding sports events sponsored annually by Gillette's "Cavalcade of Sports" over the Mutual-Don Lee network.
