Tus., Dec. 27, 1949 ALTAR SOCIETV HOLD HOLIOAY PARTY AT JOHN SCHAFER HOME The John Schafer home on Mel. rose road was gay with Christ mas decorations last week when Mrs. Schafer entertained circle No. 2, St. Joseph's Altar society, for the December meeting and Christmas party, A short business meeting was closed when the outgoing officers turned over their duties to the new officers for the coming year. Gift exchange followed with Dickie Schafer acting as Santa. Secret sisters were disclosed and new names drawn for 1950. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Schafer assisted by Mrs. Robert Foye to Mrs. Carl Lund gren, Mrs. Sidney Domenlco, Mrs. Sandy McDonald, Mrs. Harvey Brown, Mrs. Isadore Grouleau, Mrs. Harold DesBlens, Miss Hel en Casey, Miss Kay Ward, Miss Coletta Langenberg, Miss Pa tricia Mickels, Miss Margaret Joyce. OGLE Rlversdale Home Economics club met at the home of Mrs. Eldon Ogle for the annual Christmas party Friday. Follow ing the potluck luncheon, gifts were, exchanged. The club agreed to sponsor a Camp Fire Girls group with Mrs. Ted Mehlhof, Mrs. Charles Stark and Mrs. Lester Spencer to work with the guardian, Mrs. Gladys Gladwill. Mrs. C. T. Tipton was nominat ed to represent the club on the Mutual, "Queen of America," contest. The next meeting was announced for Jan. 13, to be held at the home of Mrs. Myron Lehne. The most outstnading social event of the Christmas season was the oartv siven by Mrs. Wil lard Laurance at her home in Dlllard Thursday for the Wom an's Society of Christian Serv ice. The guests were greeted by Mrs. c (j. rosDacx ana Mrs. Danford Laurance aa co-hostesses. The house was decorated with a beautiful tree and the fire place mantle in the tradition of Christmas mow. A potluck dinner was served irom a taoie covered wun lace cloth and centered with greenery and small colored glass balls and noiaers witn tali yeuow tapers. Gifts were exchanged. The aft ernoon program was opened by the president, Mrs. Mercy Buell, presenting Mrs. Beatrice Post who Dlaved a piano solo. The address of welcome to the new comers into the W.S. of C.S. was given by Mrs. Carol Hercher, who expressed everyone's pleas ure wun tne parties given annual' ly at the Laurance hhome.
