BRITTAIN SLCAK Wednesday evening was a freat event for the children of utherlin as Santa Claus made his appearance at the foot of the large lighted Christmas tree which is placed in the vacant lot near the corner of Central ave nue and Calapodla street ' A very large crowd gathered and listened to the high school chorus sing Christmas carols aft er which the award was made for the best decorated home which Vas as follows, Mr. and Mrs. Brittaln Slack, ' first; Mr. and Mrs. M. E. Groshong, sec ong; Mr. and Mrs. Ed McCall, third. Honorable mention was also made to Mr. and Mrs. Hen ry Cook and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Trozelle. Judges this year were, Mrs. Keith Smith, Mrs. Edna Thomas and Alvln Haerauff, all of Oak land, 'me judging was done on Tuesday evening. They stated that the outdoor decorations were very beautiful and commented on the good work which had been done in decorating and that the Christmas trees in the windows gave the town a definite yuletide air.
