Newlyweds residing In Rose
burg are Mr. and Mra. Donald
E. Allen who were wed Novem
ber 28 at 6 p.m. at the Christ's
Episcopal church in Seattle,
Wash.
Traveling to Seattle lor the cer
emony were the bride's parents,
Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Blake of this
city. The bride is the former Gen
evieve Blake.
For her wedding she selected
a royal blue dressmaker suit with
black accessories and pinned to
her shoulder a corsage of talis
man roses and stephanotis. She
was given in marriage by her
father, G. C. Blake. The bride
groom la the son of Mrs. Emma
Wagner of Roseburg.
Matron of honor was the
bride's sister, Mrs. Lester P.
Murphy of Everett, Wn. She wore
a gray tailored suit with black
accessories and a corsage of
green orchids.
The bride's' mother was attired
In a tan dressmaker suit with
brown accessories and an orchid
corsage. Best man was Herbert
Smith, also of Roseburg.
The double ring ceremony was
read by the Rev. Dean Jessett in
the candlellghted church in the
presence of relatives and close
frinds. Organ music was played
throughout the ceremony.
A reception followed at the
Pine room of the Monte Crlsto
hotel in Everett, Wash. The wed
ding cake was first cut by the
bride and groom and Mrs. Blake
completed the cutting.
Following a short wedding trip
the couple are now at home in
Roseburg during the winter
months. The bridegroom is a
graduate of Pullman Washington
State college at Pullman, school
of forestry. He is district ranger
in charge of the Diamond Lake
district, Umpqua national forest.
They will reside at Big Camas
Ranger station in the spring.
Mrs. Allen is a graduate of
Roseburg Senior high school and
attended University of Oregon.
She served three years in the
U. S. Navy with the WAVES.

Miss Marlon Ady, of Southern
Oreeon Colleee of Education, was
introduced by Miss Helen Casey
as the guest speaker at the Rose
burg Woman's club Christmas
program meeting Tuesday after
noon at the Methodist church

ntr talk on Art and Art Educa
tion and Christmas Pictures.

Mrs. J.' M. Boyles, president,
conducted the meeting. Mrs. im

A thank you note was read from
Miss Ferrari, exchange student,
for the Christmas gift from the
Roseburg club.
Mrs. Boyles told of the Inter
national Relations program of
the club and asked for gifts to oe
brought at the next meeting to
be sent to Denmark. The meeting
will be January 3 with MrsAr
mour Murdock, program leader,
on the topic, "Hands Across the
Sea, Denmark." Five minute por
trayal of customs of other lands,
will be given by Mrs. C. E. Rob
erts. Special music will be pre
sented. The meeting will be pre
ceded by an executive meeting at
twlve o'clock at the Methodist
church kitchen. Members of the
executive group are asked to
bring a sack lunch.
On behalf of the club, Mrs.
Harry F. Hatfield presented a
Christmas gift to Mrs. Boyles.

Preceding the party the group
met at the Rogan home and then
went to the county home to sing
Christmas carols. At the party
at the Casey home, two very de
lightful plays were given: "The
Beau of Bath" by Mrs. R. a
Rhodes, Mrs. Ernest Barker Jr.,
and Mrs. Frank Rogan, under
the direction of Miss Casey, and
"Two Frantic Wives," played by
Miss Casey and Mrs. Wimberly.
Pantomiming of last year's Secret
Sisters proved an enjoyable fea
ture of the party.
Santa Claus appeared and gifts
were exchanged, after which de
licious refreshments were serv
ed from a beautifully appointed
table. The holiday motif was ar
tistically carried out about the
rooms.
