AT HUGHES HOME
Mrs. Leon Hughes' home on
West 2nd avenue North was the
scene of the Christmas party of
Beta Gamma chapter of Epsllon
Sigma Alpha Thursday evening,
Dec. 15. Plans were discussed for
a Christmas dance.
Holiday decorations were .used
about the rooms and gifts were
exchanged. Refreshments were
served by Mrs. Hughes and co

Rev. W. W. Appleyard brought
the Christmas message at the
Dillard P-T. A. meeting Friday
evening at the schoolhouse. He
is minister of the Dillard churcn.
Christmas carols were sung by
tne group, me seventh grade
boys and girls sang several
Christmas numbers under the
direction of Mr. Corey, Dillard
teacher, who accompanied them
on the piano. The Dillard church

EVERGREEN GRANGERS
HOLD POTLUCK DINNER
One hundred Grangers and
children enjoyed a turkey dinner
and Christmas party Saturday
night at the Evergreen grange
hall. The tables were decorated
with holly and candles and the
huge Christmas tree blended
with the festive occasion.
After the dinner a program was
given. Included were a reading,
"The Best Tree" by Wcndel
Waaler, Bud Glenn, Warren Hein
back; poem by Otto Lange; poem
by Margaret Burt; piano selec
tions by Stanley Harryman;
reading by Rube Belle Kobernik.

rival of Santa Claus with gifts
for all.
The grange will meet Friday,
Dee. 23 with potluck supper at
6:30 followed by the business
meeting at 8 p.m. All members
are ureed to attend as the grange

MELROSE CLUB ELECTS
NEW OFFICERS AT
CHRISTMAS MEETING
Mrs. Nellie Myers was elected
vice chairman of the Melrose
Home Economics club at the
meeting held Wednesday at the
home of Mrs. Margaret Aydellot
with Mrs. Amy Matthews as co
hostess. Mrs. Ethel Becker was elected
secretary and Mrs. Margaret
Reece re-elected corresponding
secretary. Plans were made for
the Grange Christmas party and
potluck dinner which were held
Tuesday night at the grange hall.

hostesses to Mrs. Beckie Chi1
wood and children, her mother,
Mrs. Stephens, Mrs. Ruth Sim
mons, Mrs. Ethel Becker, Mrs.

Bellvlew club members met
with Viola Haley Wednesday for
their annual Christmas party.
The rooms were decorated with
Christmas greenery and a Christ
mas tree. A short business meet
ing was followed by visiting,
games and exchange of gifts.
Refreshments were served by
the hbstess assisted by Irene
Walker. The next meeting will be
January 4 at 12 noon with pot
luck luncheon at the home of

street. At that time plans will
be completed for the 30th anni
