By SHERMAN PLIMPTON
Once upon a time there was
a little girl who had waited a
long time for Christmas Eve.
When it finally came she went
several times to the door to
peer anxiously out into the
night. Noticing her dejection
when she turned back into the
room, her mother asked the
reason. Sadly the little girl
said, "You said it was Christ
mas Eve ... but the sky
didn't open and the angels
sing." Guess mavbe that hap
pens to a lot of us. Like the
little girl, we build ourselves
up for something great and
when the time comes we're
disappointed. Maybe it's be
cause we. try to get too much
out of the time. Maybe our
thoughts are dwelling on what
will come to us, rather than
what we can give to someone
else. Christmas is a feeling, a
very personal, peaceful feel
ing. The skv won't open and
the angels sing. But when the
time comes something will
sing Inside of us. And as al
ways, there'll be love in the air
and a feeling of fellowship.
And just this once a year
there'll be peace and happi
ness a-plenty and we'll all
think that we have more of
love and substance to share.
And we'll share it. There's
nothing like it. So . , . merry,
merry Christmas to you, and
happiness for the coming year
from your DeSoto-Plymouth
dealer, Corkrum Motors.
