Claus Is pretty well known these
days around the Pacific ocean,
even In oriental countries where
he was once a stranger.
This is reDorted by Pan Amer

In northern Alaska, Christmas
day is dark throughout and the
lights on Christmas trees burn
continuously. In some parts of
Alaska there are no fir trees,
and Christmas trees are flown in.
In Japan before the war, only
Christian families paid any atten
tion to Christmas. Now, with
thousands of occupation person
nel present, the custom Is spread
