Walter L. Tooze has confirmed a
report that he will be a candidate
for the Oregon supreme court
next May.
A native of Marlon countv, he
has been a member of the Mult
nomah court since 1942. His pres
ent term runs until 1955. He prac
ticed law in Polk and Yamhill
counties before moving here in
1929.
Judge Tooze will seek the va
cancy caused by the retirement
of Justice J. O. Bailey, whose
term expires Jan. 1, 1951.

up and several auffered minor
bruises when a Grants Pass
school district No. 7 bus skidded
in a soft shoulder and headed
down a three-foot ditch on Mur
phy road near here tills morning.

The stream has been known
variously as Big creek, Tillasana
creek, Tillasana river, Tillasqua
creek and Tillusqua creek.
