BLA8KEY The Christmas story, read In unison, irom Luke y-m, nign liehted the Northslde Prayer Cir cle meeting last week at the home ol Mrs. P. M. tsiasKey on Rowe street. The meeting, the annual Christmas party, climax ed the year's activity for the cir cle which was begun about 30 years ago. Individuals completed the read ing to the 40th chapter. After the usual prayer the exchange of gifts and distribution of hand painted plaques by the leader, personal Christmas experiences highlighted the visiting hour. Mrs. Blaskey served refresh ments at a table, centered with Santa In his sleigh at the foot of a silvered gum tree, to Mrs. Rose Holmes, Mrs. Lucy Wood ruff, Mrs. Anna Carson, Mrs. Edith S. Ackert, Mrs. Harland, Mrs. Lucia Ingles and Mrs. Maud Hagan. Closing the afternoon Mrs. Ackert played several Christmas carols on the cottage organ. The group sent a remembrance to Mrs. Marjorie Duff and to Mrs. Duff's sister, Mrs. Mabel Smith, who is here on a visit from Los Angeles. The latter was a mem ber of the circle during her resi dence in Roseburg. WALTER REBER HEADS WINCHESTER COMMUNITY CLUB FOR COMING YEAR Walter Reber was elected presi dent of the Winchester Commu nity club at a meeting held rl dav. Dec. 2 at the clubhouse, As sisting him during his term of otllce are Kugene maenour, vice president: Donna Hall, secretary, William Wonch, treasurer and Adrld Van Horn, hospitality cha rman. Coffel were given the first and second degree obligations by Amy Matthews at the Melrose Grange meeting ncid Tuesday night. GIFT WRAPPING PROJECT ENJOYED BY TENMILE- OLALLA EXTENSION UNIT Maureen Muetzel, prolect lead er demonstrated "gilt wrapping" at the Olalla Tenmile extension unit meeting Tuesday, Dee, 6 at 1 p. m. at the Olalla hall. Mrs. Muelzel showed various ties and wrappings to make gifts more attractive and how to use articles at home to add origina lity to gift wrapping. The next meeting will be Jan uary 4 at the tenmile church when the topic will be landscap ing at the community club grounds. Potluck luncheon will be served a noon. Jackson street, with Mrs. S S. St. Onge and Mrs. George R. Shanklin assisting hostesses. The gifts exchanged at the Christmas party will be used for child welfare.
