The club will sell holly cor I V II 1 MRS ALVIN HOFFMAN HONORED AT SHOWER AT 8ABIN RESIDENCE Mrs. Alvin Hoffman was honor d at a pink and blue shower given Friday evening at the home or Mrs. Robert babin on Melrose road. Pink and blue decorations car ried out the decorative theme and games were enjoyed by the guests. Honoring Mrs. Hoffman were Mrs. Alvin Knauss, Mrs. Clyde Moore, Mrs. Ed Wyatt, f 8' 3 K" '4 ' Cf- 3 ner and Mrs. WHIard Laurence. The lower picture shows a view of the Burg rumpus room where an auction was a feature of the club meeting. Proceeds will be used for a scholarship loan fund and other projects of the local organization. The Horace C. Berg home In Laurelwood was the scene of a gala occasion Monday afternoon when Mrs. Berg was hostess to the Oregon State Mothers' club. A feature of the afternoon was an auction of Christmas gifts in the rumpus room proceeds from which will be used for the Schol arship loan fund. The club also will purchase an Oregon State annual to be placed in the Rose burg Public library. Hold Luncheon sages to raise funds for the treas ury and those who are able to help make the corsages are ask ed to meet with Mrs. Olive Clarke, Dec, 12 at 2 p.m. at 842 Hoover street. The members will assist with volunteer service at the dance to he held at the Veterans hospital Dec. 19 at 8 p.m. Mrs. Martha Wells told of the stale depart ment accepting a nineteen -patient ward at Camp White as a Christmas project, and wards 311 and S at the Veterans hospital here, where they will present a program. The club Is composed of mothers of students who have or who are now attending Ore gon State college at Corvallis. During the coffee hour, which followed a short business meet ing, Mrs. Walter Hercher, now president, poured. The table was attractively arranged with silver Christmas trees on a mirror and cornucopias filled with chrysan themums. Mrs. Berg was assist ed by Mrs. G. V. WImberly. Mrs. H. N. Jacobson will be hostpss to the club at her home on Chapman street, January 16 at 3 p.m. with Mrs. E. M. Blelle as assisting hostess. A floor length gown of dusty HERMIE HOBI CELEBRATES FOURTH BIRTHDAY AT LUNCHEON ON SATURDAY . Hermle Hobl, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs, H. H. Hobl, cele brated his fourth birthday at a very delightful one o'clock lunch eon at the attractive Hobl home on Reservoir Avenue Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Hobl were assisted by the latter's brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. E. J. O'Meara; Mrs. Fred Sohn and Mrs. Frederick J. Porter. The long luncheon table was centered with an attractive snow scene and colorful candy -bean tree surrounded with miniature animals. Candy-cup favors and colorful placecards marked each cover. Four tiny figurine candles topped the beautifully iecorated birthday cake. Huge balloons decorated the chandelier and buf fet. The balloons and a gift for each guest were presented to the children. Lovely gifts were presented to Hermle from his two brothers: Herbie and Bobby Hobl; his two cousins.
