DELIGHTFUL MEETING
AT JOHNSON HOME
Dorcas Society of Faith Luther
an church held a very enjoyable
afternoon meeting DecemDer i
at the home of Mrs. Frank John
son, 242 S. Rose street.
The pastor led the group sing
ing and continued the study of
the Prophets. Isaiah was the
prophet studied. A short business
meeting followed, after which the
members exchanged gifts and
the remainder of the afternoon
was spent in singingChristmas
carols and visiting. There were
fourteen members and two chil
dren present. At the tea hour,
Mrs. Johnson served lovely re
freshments. The next meeting of the group
will be announced later.

YONCALLA BOYS HELP
GATHER HOLIDAY
DECORATIONS FOR CITY
Yoncalla took on a festival ap
pearance Saturday when the
boys from the 6th, 7th and 8th
grades under the capable lead
ership of George Kremkau, went
out In the woods and cut down
Christmas tree boughs, and dec
orated all the business houses In
town. A large Christmas tree has
been placed in the Intersection
near the Sweet Shop, with ropes
of cedar strung to the four cor
ners. Electric lights will be
strung on the tree. Rehearsals
are beine held for the big Christ
mas program, for the school, also
for the three churches. All the
merchants say that the Christ
mas shoDDine is well underway,
and this year looks like receipts
will exceed previous years.

Friday evening. During the busi
