Aid For Social Security Role OLYMPIA, Wash., Dec. 3. W) Washington-! tottering financial structure was further endangered today by the possible loss of approximately $30,000,000 In federal matching funds for the social security program. An authoritative source who declined to be quoted by name re vealed that there la a strong possibility the federal government may Issue an ultimatum on the subject. It would, In effect, elve the I state ot Washington a certain pe riod of time In which to bring its social security laws into con formity with federal regulations or, in ueu tnereoi, lose us ieaerai matching funds. Federal regulations re q u i r e that social security records of Individuals receiving public as sistance shall be kept confiden tial. A question has been raised as to whether the laws of the state of Washington keep such recotx's confidential. If the federal government should Issue its ultimatum, as an authoritative source here says they may, the state has two methods of bringing Its laws Into conformity with federal regula tions if It wishes to continue re ceiving federal matching funds: 1.
