V jSometirras Were Tempted Because we're human we're sometimes tempted to try promotional meth ods mch ai giving something away with every diamond purchase. Many jewelers offer "give-aways" to stimulate their diamond sales, but somehow we think most people don't approve of these methods. We know also that most people don't expect to get something for nothing, that they realize they are also paying for the "gift". Because we ore diamond jewelers, not promoters, we don't give anything away with the diamonds we sell except the box and our sincere congratula tions, because our prices do not include the cost of a "free gift". We hove to be satisfied with just trying to be about the best diamond Jewelers in town. Extreme care is exercised in buying our diamonds and because we have highly trained diamond buyers you have the assurance that diamonds from Knudtson's are the finest for the price anywhere. Come in to see our fine selection of Orange Blossom ond Keepsake dia mond rings. We invite your questions about diamonds and will be pleased to explain the merits of individual stones. , r L J 8 The Newt-Review, Roseburg, Ore. Sat., Dee. 3, 1949 "A very gay affair" is the way the veterans at the local VA Hos pital described the Red Cross dance at the Recreation Hall on Monday, November 28. Kappa Al pha Theta sorority of the Uni versity of Oregon sent a busload of girls to act as dancing part ners for the patients. Expenses of the bus and the trip were a donation of the Lane County chapter of the American Red Cross. Also in attendance were about 40 women of the other serv ice organizations from Roseburg. Music for dancing was supplied by Vie Rice's Orchestra, with the sorority girls furnishing several vocal numbers at the intermis sion. They sang some of the col lege song as well as popular num bers and were well applauded by the audience. Between dances coffee and gingerbread were served to all attending.
