meeting Monday evening, No
vember 14 at the country home
of Mrs. Sandy McDonald. Mrs.
Carl Lundgren was assisting
hostess and the affair was pot
luck dinner.

TOYS FOR CHRISTMAS
GIFTS TO ALASKAN YOUTH
Keystone club members were
entertained Monday evening at
7:30 o'clock dessert supper at the
home of Mrs. Clifford Smith in
Laurelwood.
The members brought wrapped
toys which are to be mailed to
Unalaklcet, Alaska, to an orphan
age. Mrs. Wm. C. Woods Is chair
man of the project.
Announcement was made of
the food sale to be held Wednes
day. Dec. 7, at the Umpqua Val
ley hardware store with Mrs. Ver

AT DALLEN JONES HOME
Zulelma Nile club was enter
tained Friday, November 18 at
the home of Mrs. Dallen Jones
assisted by Mrs. Ivena Halverson
as co-hostess. Those attending
brought Thanksgiving -packages
for the Thanksgiving box to be
sent to the Shrine hospital. These
gifts were packed by Mrs. W. C.
Holmes and Mrs. Frank Bodin.
Plans were made for the next
meeting, to be a Christmas party,
at the home of Mrs. Elton Jack
son, Winchester, Dec. 9. Potluck
dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m.
and members are asked to bring
Christmas packages . for the
Shrine hospital.

MARRY IN OCTOBER
AT CHRISTIAN CHURCH

Rominger, both of Canyonville,
were quietly married Oct. 19 at
the First Christian church in
Roseburg.
The ceremony was read by the
Rev. Kenneth Knox, pastor of the
church. Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Antis
attended the couple.
The bride wore a silver gray
satin ensemble with blue acces
sories. Mrs. Rominger Is the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Antis
of Canyonville.
They are now making their
home at TrI-City.

affair which was attended this
year by any number of commun
ity residents ... the orchestra,

on the stage which was decorated
with shades of yellow and orange
and greenery . . . Thanksgiving

yellow ribbons fastened to the
men's lapels as they were greeted
by club members at the door . . .

Roseburg, were married at a late
fall wedding Thursday evening,
Nov. 10, at the Oar home.
The Rev. Forrest Hill, pastor
of the Nazarene church, read the
ceremony at 7 o'clock in the pres
ence of relatives of the couple.
Fall flowers formed the back
ground for the ceremony.
The bride, given In marriage bv
her father, wore a street length
blue crepe-backed satin gown and
carried a bouquet of pink carna
tions tied with white satin stream
ers. Her only ornament was a
three-strand pearl necklace, a gift
of her mother.

onvllle, cousin of the bride, was
maid of honor. She wore an aqua
taffeta dress. Perley Oar of Look
ingglass, was best man for his
brother. The bride's mother wore
a navy blue outfit
A reception followed the cere
mony and the bride's table was
covered with a lace cloth, center
ed with a two-tiered wedding cake
which was topped with a minia
ture bridal couple.
The cake was first cut by the
bride and bridegroom and was
served by Mrs. Bertha Patterson,
aunt of the bride. Ices were serv
ed by Mrs. Susie Oar and Mrs.
Ida Ellis served coffee and punch.

Clifford Jones, Hugh Jones, Lee
Jones, Clifford Jones Jr., Conrad
and Norman Jones, Miss Marta

bridegroom is employed In the

the trip from Roseburg to Cleve
land, Ohio, in July to attend the
National Elks convention.
