Wheeler Anderson of Gaston, Ore., Friday evening, Nov. 18, at the Methodist parsonage In Roseburg. Rev. W. A. MacArthur performed the Impressive cere mony at seven oclock in the presence of relatives and a few close friends. The bride was charming In a burgundy-colored suit with matching shoes and hat and ac cessories in dusty rose. She car ried a white Bible topped by a large orchid. Mrs. Jeffery Currier (Prlscilla Wade) of Eugene was matron of honor and wore a navy suit with matching accessories and a cor sage of gardenias and rosebuds. James Dziarmoga of Roseburg was best man. The bride's mother wore an ensemble of black with match ing accessories and a corsage of gardenias and roses. A reception followed at Carl's Haven. The bride's table was centered with an arrangement of shell-pink carnations Burrounded with pink heather and white chry santhemums, flnnked by cande labra holding tall pink tapers. The two-tiered wedding cake was cut by the bride and bridegroom. For traveling the bride wore the suit she was married in and her corsage was an orchid. Fol lowing the reception, the couple left for points north on their hon eymoon. The bride was graduated from Roseburg Senior High school In 1947. She attended Northwestern Business college and is now em ployed as a secretary by the Todd Building company. The bridegroom was graduated from Grants Pass High school. He at tended California State Polytech nic school at San Luis Obispo and Oregon State college at Corval- lis. During the war he served as radio technician in the U. Navy. He is now employed in the engineering department of the Pacific Telephone and Tele, graph company. Mr. and Mrs. Anderson will make their home after December 1st in their new residence in Ron' aid Heights. BERNICE PATE AND THOMAS C. AUSTIN MARRY ON NOV. 18TH Miss Bernlce Pate, daughter of Mr. and Mrs, Marccllus Pate, and Thomas C, Austin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harmon O. Austin, both of Myrtle Creek, were unit ed In marriage November 18th at an impressive double ring cere mony performed in the M. K. parsonage In Grants Pass. Only the Immediate families of the couple and a few close friends attended the ceremony. Mrs. Jean Pate was matron of honor and Robert G. Austin was best man. The young couple will make their home in Myrtle Creek, where both are employed. MRS. REED ENTERTAINS SEWINQ CLUB THURSDAY Mrs. Don Reed was hostess to her sewing club at her home on West First street Thursday eve nlng. Sewing and visiting were followed by refreshments. With Church, Dinners, Family Reunions Thanksgiving day was observed in Roseburg Thursday with good fellowship and family dinners holding the spotlight. Many attended tho Thanksgiving services held in various churches in the city. College students were home for the holiday weekend and the brilliant sunshine added . a sparkling note to every occasion. Many motored to out-of-town spots for Thanksgiving dinner and others took the good weather as an excuse for drives through the country. The Elks club held open house for members and a climax to the day was the 20th annual Thanksgiving dance at the armory, sponsored by the Roseburg Business and Professional Women's club. Mr. and Mrs. H. N. Jacobson entertained at a very charming four o'clock turkey dinner at their lovely home In Laurelwood Thanksgiving day. Covers were placed for their son, Tom, who was home from Oregon State col lege; another son, Dick; their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Gremmel, and baby son, Steven: for the host's mother, Mrs. N. Jacobson, of Roseburg, and for Mr. and Mrs. George Gremmel of Glen Ridge, N. J. and Mrs. Vincems Gad of New York City. Dr. and Mrs. G. C. A family dinner was enjoyed at the Stephens home on Blake- ley street Thursday when Mrs. Floyd Stephens entertained her son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Stephens and two chil dren, David and Nancy. Enjoying Thanksgiving dinner at the Grant Phillips home on Tipton road were Mrs. Phillips parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. A family dinner was held Thursday at the Keith Phillips home on South Main street.
