Proposal Given Husband Marked In Death Scheme BREMERTON (JP) A 34-year-old husband, whose wife is charg ed with attempting his murder to put an end to what she called his persistent love making, to day dusted off an offside pro posal of marriage. The husband, Wilford Piatt, showed reporters a letter which he received from a New York City woman. "Wilford," It read in part, "I would never get tired of your love making." Piatt has said he wanted his wife back despite her signed statement that she mad a $324 down payment on an unfulfilled plot to have him killed. "I'm not Interested. in any pro posal unless the woman has enough money to help me get my wife out of Jail," he said. The letter had been misdirected to Mrs. Margaret Piatt, held on $3,500 bond. It was opened by sheriff's deputies as routine and forwarded to Piatt. The writer described herself as "38 years old, a grass widow for 14 years, with a pretty fig ure." Mrs. Piatt will be arraigned next Monday. "President Truman's technique leads down the road to commu nism because It attempts to buv freedom with material things,1' Wherry said.
