Cardinal Marmaggi Dies,
Reducing College To 54

cesco Cardinal Marmaggi, one
of the top administrators in the
Vatican, died Thursday following
a heart attack. He was 73.
Cardinal Marmaggi, elevated
to the sacred college in 1935, was
prefect of the congregation of the
council, tie directed the applica
tion and enforcement of decrees
of the Council of Trent and other
church laws.
His death reduces the mem
bership of the college of Cardi
nals to 54. The full membership
is 70.

thur, pastor of the First Metho
dist church. Each Sunday evening
for the next eight months the lo-

gram of "Advance for Christ and
His Church."

music, both vocal' and instrumen
tal, followed by a brief address
by the pastor, and concluding
with a question and answer pe
riod in which the worshipper can
ask for Information and help in
some particular problem of
faith.
The first of these evenine hours
will be held this Sunday, Nov. 6,
at 7:30 p. m. in the Methodist
church sanctuary. .The Rev. Mr.
MacArthur will illustrate his re
marks with chalk drawings.- As
illustrative of the faith men have
had in God and Jesus Christ he
has developed a series of short
talks on the "Businessmen of the
