(. Sheriff Dean D. Jones said Wednesday a 15-year-old boy had admitted an armed holdup of a Hood canal ir.n with an other youth. The boy's arrest brought to nine the number of teen-agers under arsest In connection wifh a series of burglaries and other crimes In Kitsap and Mason counties. The sheriff said another ad mitted burglary by members of the group ran the total to nine burglaries and four automobile thefts. The burglary loot was listed at $613 in cash, plus cloth ing and beer. Jones said the newly arrested 15-year-old told of participating with an 18-year-old In the armed holdup of Robin Hood inn on Hood canal near the night closing hour Sept. 25. They got about $160 from the cash register and $60 from patrons. The sheriff said the boy re lated how both of them were armed with Luger pistols, which they had stolen from a friend. They later abandoned the wea pons In a Bremerton theater. The boy explained that they did not want to. throw them away because they belonged to the friend; They left the pistols in the theater In the hope they would be returned to 'the owner. The 18-year-old named by the boy as an accomplice was among the group of boys arresfed earlier. The sheriff withheld all names explaining that such a policy was advisable while the Investigation is continuing. The sheriff said all of the boys under arrest had admitted par ticipating in one or more of the series of offenses. He said sev eral of them admitted knowing that the two boys had the Luger pistols, but denied knowing what they were doing with them. UP Plans for a 56,000-man cut In lite navy were disclosed Thursday In the midst of a growing storm over reports that Admiral Louis E. Denfeld wilt be ousted as chief of naval operations. Rep. Arends iR-Ill) said he had been informed that Denfeld will be asked to resign in the "next day or two" because of testimony he gave the House armed services committer on dif ferences in the armed services. Arends demanded in a state ment that the committee con vene to meet this "Insult to Cnn. gress." He said the committee had promised Denfeld and other critics of present military poli cies that they could speak their minas ireeiy witnout fear of re taliation. Arends said Congress for lis own protection must fight an ouster of Denfeld. He said no congressional committee in the future would be able to get tes timony "worth a pinch of salt" from officers of the armed serv ices If Denfeld is to get the axe. Mother Follows Son As Polio Patient EOISE, Idaho, Oct. 28. UP Just two weeks after her son was flown from Lewiston to Boise as an emergency polio patient, Mrs. Edna Klappenbach made the same trip also as a polio patient. Les Randolph of Boise piloted the plane on both emergency trips. Mrs. Klappenback was admitt ed to St. Alphonsus hospital's po lio isolation ward. (Pi- Leslie Jahn, 41 -year -old tennis coach, Wednesday was convicted on three counts of incest involving his 16-year-old daughter, Laura Lou Jahn, former national jun ior girls' tennis champion. Superior Judge William Byrne gave the verdict after hearing two days of testimony in the case tried without a jury. Jahn faces a possible penalty of one to 50 years imprisonment on each count. .
