HONOREO AT FAREWELL
PARTY TUESDAY EVENING
The Junior Division of the Flrt
Christian church honored Mrs.
Ernest Higginbotham at a fare
well party given Tuesday evening
at the home of Mrs. Don Reed.
Mrs. Higginbotham has been an
outstanding member of the group
ever since it was organized. The
Higglnbothams have moved to
Grants Pass, where they have
purchased a lovely new home and
Mr. Higginbotham will engage In
the logging industry In that county-Mrs.
Jimmy Leep and Mrs.
Chet Hamm were in charge of
the program, which included de
votions by Mrs. Kenneth Knox;
piano solo by Mrs. Jeanette Bou
cock; original poem concerning
Mrs. Higginbotham by Mrs. Lyl;i

and a treasure hunt for the guest

fall meeting to be held Tuesday,
October 4, at the First Methodist
church parlors at one-thirty o'
clock. Mrs. J. M. Boyles, prsident,
will conduct the meeting. Mrs.
Kenneth Ford, Mrs. James P.
Joyce and Mrs. Earl Blelle 'ire
chairmen of the tea committee,
assisted by officers and directors
of the club as hostesses.
Mrs. Lester Read of Eugene,
owner of Read's Mum Garden
firm will be the guest speaker on
the subject, "Gardening as a hob
by." As a gardener of 24 years'
experience and a licensed nur
seryman for four years, Mrs.
Read promises to bring many in
teresting experience to her aud
ience. Mrs. W. Sherman Plimpton, pi
anist, will be the guest artist on
the program and will he introduc
ed by the music chairman, Mrs.
Earl Plummer.
Members will receive their
yearbooks at this meeting, at
which time dues will be payable.
All members are asked to bring
guests.
