Preceding the ceremony. Mls Sue Hnhn sang. "Because,"' and "Always," asconipanled by Mrs. Pe Loss Crook, who also played the wedding marches. An Ivy decorated archwav, flanked by large baskets of gladi oli and fern, firmed the decora tions. The bride. Iven In marriage by her father, was attractive In gown of white satin fashioned on Princess line with a sweet heart neckline and scalloped bodice. She wore lace elbow length gloves and a single strand of pearls. Her riodhle fingertip veil was edjed with wide lace and held In place by a coronet of eediiearls and orange blossoms. She carried a wMtc lilhle a gift of the bridegroom I topped by a large white orchid. .Miss Carolyn Tanner, sister of the bride, was maid of honor and wore a yellow net and la"e gown and cairlcd a nnsegav of gladioli blossoms. Miss Bettv Slid ham and Miss Wanda Morris were bridesmaids and wore dressc fashioned alike with the former wearing pink satin and net and Miss Morris in blue net. they carried gladioli blossom nosegays. Robert Royer of Eugene was best man to his brother and Arn old Nashlund and Raymond Hough were ushers. A reception followed at the new home of the bride and bride groom at 2(W Hollis avenue In I Cloverdale addition. Dahlias and gladioli formed the attractive decorations. The three tiered wed ding cake was topped by a mini ature orwe and oildegroom and was cut by the bridal couple and served by Miss Carolyn Tanner. Miss Henrietta Jnhnson and Miss Wanda Morns. The guest book was in charge of Sylvia Tanner, a sister of the bride. The bride was graduated from Roseburg high school and Is em ployed by the Pacific Telephone : and Telegraph company. The bridegroom, who also attended Roseburg high school. Is em ployed by th Lindselt Lumber Co, CALIFORNIANAS ARE ENTERTAINED DURING THEIR STAY IN ROSEBURG Mr. and Mrs. Donald Hardy and sons, Dick and Donald, of Watsonville, Calif., who have been here since August 22. visit ing Mr. Hardy's mother, Mrs. R. C. Young, and hi sisters, Mrs. John A. Patton, and family, and Mi's. Alfred Morris, and family, were entertained the evening of August 23 at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Edgar B. Luther, 946 West First treet. Mr. Hardy, whose hobby is tak ing colored pictures of his nu merous vacation trips, showed pictures of Yosemite. Grand Can yon, Shasta and other points of interest, which he ha visited. Ice-cream, cake and punch were erved. Those enjoying the eve ning with Dr. and Mis. August 30, a family wiener roast was en Joyed at the home of Mr. and Mrs. R, C, Young, just south of Rosphurg. Covers were placed for Mr. and Mrs. Hardy and sons, Dick and Donald; Mr. and Mrs. John A. Patton and daughter. Judith and Patricia: and Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Morris and daugh ter. Berdine. Over last Saturday and Sunday the Hardy and Patton families enjoyed a tay at Crater lake. The visitors left Friday for their home in Watsonville. MRS. EUGENE MCELROY HONORS MRS. RIFLE RANGE SEWING CLUB HAS DELIGHTFUL AFTERNOON MEETING The Rifle Range Sewing club met Thursday afternoon at the home of Mr. Blanche Marr. Roach, pastor of the First Pres byterian church, performed the ceremony in the presence of forty relative and close friends. White and cream-colored gla dioli, greenery and tall white ta per formed the decoration for the Improvised altar arranged before the attractive fireplace In the living room. Decoration for the wedding and reception were arranged by Mrs. Velle Broad way. The bride, given In marriage by her father, was charming In a navy blue faille uiL. She car ried an orchid bouquet. Mrs. Bur ton H. Brown of Portland, sister-in-law of the bride, was matron of honor and wore a light grey and pink dress with a corsage of white lilies. Oliver Beatty of Olympia, Wash., was best man. A reception followed in the lovely garden of the home. The table, covered with a white dam ask cloth, was centered with an arrangement of white blossoms and tall tapers. The beautifully decorated wedding cake was served by Mrs. Abe Bean and Miss Bette Jewell. Mrs. Clarence Van De Camp and Mrs. George Luoma presided at the punch bowl and Miss Elinor Rose, daughter of the bride, was in charge of the guest book. Out-of-town guests attending the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Beatty of Olympia; Mr. and Mrs. Barton H. Brown of Portland; and M-Sgt. and Mrs. Clifford D. Barker of Seattle. Following a week's honeymoon to San Francisco. Mr. and Mrs. Farenbaugh will make their home at Todd new terrace apartment in North Roseburg. Mrs. Farenbaugh is manager of the Oregon State Vehicle li cense bureau and will continue her work upon her return here. Mr. Farenbaugh Is in business in the F. and W. TUCK TO MAKE EXTENDED TRIP TO CANADA AND EAST A. J. Tuck, prominent Rose burg retired orchardist, is leav ing the middle of next week on a three month' trip to visit rela tives and friend and enjoy an extended vacation. He will visit relative in San Francisco and then go to Salt Lake City to visit hi son and daughter-in-law. Dr. and Mrs. R Tuck. From there, he will go to his former home-town of Cleve land. Ohio. At Le Roy, New York, he will be with his daughter, Mr. Glady Clark, (technician at the Veteran hospital at Bata via), and her daughter, Ann. Accompanied by Mr. Clark, he will make a trip to Niagara Falls, point in Canada and then will go to Nashua, N. H.. to visit Mis. Clark's son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mr. John U. Clark. Mr. Tuck will later go to West port, Conn., to visit his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Seitz (Ruth Tuck), and their daughter, Judith, and son, Robert. Judith will enter Alleg hany college in Meadville, Pa Sept. 17. Her mother and aunt. Mrs. Clark, both were graudalud from Alleghany college. Mis. Clark' daughter, Ann. also plans to attend the same college, when she completes her high school education. From there. Mr. Tuck will go to Florida and will later leave tor the west coast, via the south ern states. He will visit in San Diego and stop in Los Angeles for a visit with Dr. Charles A. Edwards, former Roseburg resi dent and retired Methodist minis ter. Miss June Young played softly on the niano and accompanied William Riddlebarger, who sang, "O Promise Me," preceding the cere mony and at the close of the ser vice, he sang, 'The Lord's Pray er." Miss Young played the tra ditional wedding marches. The bride, given in marriage by her father, was lovely in a white organdy gown fashioned with hands of evelet embroidered edg ing. The skirt ended in a full train and she wore matching mitts of eyelet trimmed organdy. Her short veil was held In place by a coronet of stephanotis. She carried a bouquet of white roses, pink carnations and stephanotis. Marian Weaver, sister of the bride, and Joyce West were the bride's attendants and w-ore bou fant gowns of pale blue organdy with matching mitt.
