MYSTERY SISTERS REVEALED AT MEETING The one day of the year all Evergreen Home Economics club members look forward to was held Wednesday at the home of Mrs. Besse Lounsbury with Mrs. Pauline Little, co-hostess, when the revealing of the Mystery sis ters for the year took place. Business Failures Last Week Reveal Decrease NEW YORK, Aug. 31 JP) Business failures in the week ended Aug. 25 declined to 176 from 193 the previous week, Dun & Bradstreet reported. Casualties for the latest week compared with 96 In the com parable period last year, 59 In 1947 and 264 In 1939. Manufacturing failures fell to 41 from 61 the previous week. Wholesaling and commercial service failures also declined, but retail casualties Increased to 90 from 85 and construction to 13 from 10. The affair was a farewell, hon oring Betty Lou end Jack Wad dell, who left two days later for their home In Iowa, after spend ing the summer months with their brother-in-law and sister, the Rev. and Mrs. Lloyd Whit ford. The class members, attired In Jeans, met at the church at 7:30 o'clock and were taken to then destination by Royal Abeene Sr., in his truck. When all was in readiness, the honor guests were lured to the scene, where they were greeted with shouts of "sur prise, and a large poster letter ed "G'by, Betty Lou! So long. Jack! Don't wait too long, "till you come back!" Mr. and Mrs. Don West were in charge of games and stums, which kept everyone active. At the close of the play period the group gathered on the porch of the Buchanan home, where refreshments were served. The evening ended on a more serious note as Mr. Whit ford led a devotional service, alter re questing everyone to Join hands. A number of choruses were sung and Mr. Whilford gave a short talk on 'The Opportunities and Joys of Fellowship Among Chris tian Young People." A number of short prayers were given, then with the unbroken circle still formed, everyone Joined in sink ing "God Be With You Till We Meet Again."
