This picture was taken at the time of the rodeo this year and does not show recent improvements which have been made this summer. In this picture, west is toward the top of the page. The grandstands are on the west side of the race track. South of the grandstands (to the left) is one of the horse barns. The curved roof of the fair building is also visible. North of the grandstands (to the right), near the road, are the buildings of the Naval Reserve unit. Horse racing is scheduled under auspices of the Umpqua Jockey club from Aug. 1 7 through the 27th. Last three days of the meet will coincide with the first annual county fair, Aug. 25, 26 and 27. The Trail Dust Saddle club will also hold its annual "Stampede" those seme throe days.
