members will entertain their
families at a 6:30 picnic supper
at Umpqua park. Coffee will be

Jackson, and family. Dr. Jackson
is pastor of the First Presbyter
ian church at Jefferson City. He
was born and reared in Roseburg
and this is his first visit back
here since 1929. They will visit
here until August 17, when they
will return home.
Sen It Born A son, Stanley
Gordon, weighing seven pounds
six ounces, was born to Mr, and
Mrs. Waller G. Holbrook at Wil
cox Memorial hospital in Port
land, July 30. Mr. Holbrook U
stationed by the Umpqua Forest
service at Tiller. The baby is the
grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Walter
R. Holbrook, -79 South Main
street, and Mr. and Mrs. F. W.
Esterkam of Baltimore, Mary
land. Mrs. Holbrook and baby
have been discharged from the
hospital and have returned to
Roseburg.
Back From Aleutians Captain
and Mrs. J. Frederic Hilgenberg
net live -year -old son, Jim,
and yenr-and-a-half-old daughter,
Jeanne, are at Winchester visit
ing Mrs. Hllgenberfc's parents,
Mr. and Mrs. V. T. Jackson, fol
lowing 15 months at Adak, Aleu
tian Islands, where Captain Ml
?enberff was stationed. Thev will
leave Eugene August 17th by

Captain Hilgenherg's parents, be-

make their home and where Cap
tain Hilgenberg will be stationed
at Offut field, where he will re
port for duty September 10. Mrs.
Hilgenberg is the former Dorothy
Dale Jackson of Roseburg. She
Is a sister of Elton Jackson of
this city.
Attending Anniversary Mr.

drove to Port Orchard, Wash., j
over the weekend to observe the
silver wedding anniversary re
ception honoring Mr. and Mrs.
Luther Reed, parents of Mr. j
Main. Going also were Mr. and
Mrs. Charles Arney of this city.

sisters. Mrs. Main served the '
three-tiered wedding cake at the
