HEDDEN IS HOSTESS TO CLUB Mr. Charle Hedden entertain ed the Sunnydsle Grange Home Economics club at her home near Elkton Tuesday. The regular business session and social hour were enjoyed. DOUBLE PINK AND BLUE SHOWER GIVEN The W.M.C. of the Assembly of God church at Sutherlin spon sored a double pink and blue shower for Mrs. Irene Holcolm and Mrs. Gertrude Hathaway Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Mildred Everett in Suth erlin. The rooms of the Everett home were beautifully decorated for the occasion. Lovely gifls were presented to the guests of honor. Refreshments were served to Mrs. Belly Williams, Mrs. Es ther Gourley, Mrs. Ida Chester, Mrs. Andv Leener of Roseburg; Mrs. Addle Hall, Mrs. Amy Wood, Mrs. Marjorle Grover, Mr. Baker, Mr. Doris Harris, Mrs. Mildred Everett, Mis I mo gene Metloff, Miss Nancy Boyd and the guests of honor, Mrs. Holcolm and Mrs. Hathaway. The new neon sign above the church, which reads, "Jesus Saves." has been purchased by the C.A. young peoples society of the Assembly of God church of Sutherlin. B.P.W.C .TO PICNIC SUNDAY AT VETERANS HOSPITAL The Roseburg Business and Professional Women's club mem bers will entertain their hus and the Drain, Yoncalla and Glendale B.P.W. club and the Sutherlin Associated Business Women's club at a lour o'clock picnic dinner Sunday, July 31, at the Veterans hospital picnic grounds. RANDALL IS HOSTESS TO CERAMICS CLASSES ON FRIDAY Mrs. Charles Randall entertain ed the entire membership of the Ceramics classes at her home at Scoltsburg Friday. A potluck din ner was si-rved and the students displayed handicraft, which they had made during their 10 weeks' course under the direction of Miss Stella Hardy of Los Angeles, who was the leacher. Construction included a cook's canin and two sleeping shelter for the girls, a fireplace In the mess hall and a hand craft and nature house. Tour members of the I. 'O. O. F. lodge in Roseburg built one of the sleeping shelters. These men were Frank Johnson, J. E. Dent, Ben Bailey and T. B. Bus enbark. The Odd Fellows also cooperated wholeheartedly last year and built a shelter for the opening session of the camp. During the past winter, mem bers of Rotary Anns I. eld various money raising events and financ ed building the fireplace In the camp mess hall. Supply dona tions for the fireplace were added to the above mentioned support in the form of sand from Don Metzger of Roseburg Sand and Gravel; fire clay, Denn Gerret sen; fire brick, Coen Supply, and pumice brick at a discounted price from Chrystalite Tile Plant. Supplies were hauled to camp In Ken Ellison and Flegel trucks. Men working on the fireplace, under the supervision of Joe rest included ijeorge jonnson, Ben Elwing. Howard Cacy, Dick Harding, Bill Anderson and Bob Collins. Drain Lions club built the han dicraft and nature house wilh supplies donated by Drain mer chants and lumber houses.
