Laborites lit Commons Nullifying Lords' Votes LONDON, June 27. (P) The Jabor party's overwhelming majority in the House of Com mons has started repealing amendments to the steel national ize tios bill passed by conserva ti ps in the House of Lords. The conservatives have tried to delay the date of the govern ment's taking over the industry until after new general elections. Commons are expected to re turn the bill to its original state. A new bill limiting the power of the House of Lords probably will make the peers' delaying attempts meanisgless. 8:50 Shopper'a Guide. 10:00 News. 10:15 Sweetwood Serenade. 10:30 Say It With Music. 10:45 Art Baker. 11:00 Ladies First 1 1 30 Queen for a Day. 12:00 Music at Noon. 12:15 Sporta Pag. 12:25 Music. 12 30 Clock Ing th Start. 12:35 Music. 12:40 Local News. 12:45 Natton&l Newt. 12:55 Market Reports. 1 :0O Man on ih Street. 1:15 Listen to Liebert. 1:30 Music. 1:45 Eddie Howard. 2 00 Again th Storm. 2:30 It s Requested. 3:00 Johnson Family, 3:15 Music. 3 30 W C TV Program. 3:43 Local Loan Show. 4:00 Phelps Adams. 4:15 Frank Hemingway. 4:30 Pas-lng Parade, 4:45 News. 5:00 B Bar B Ranch. 9:30 Adventures of Champion. 8:45 Curley Bradley. 6:00 Cavalcade of Safety. 6:15 Mutual Newer! 6 30 Sporta Page, 6:35 Music, 6: 40 Local New. 6:45 Southland Singing. 6:55 Bill Henry. 7:00 Frank Purdy. 7:13 Music You Remember. 7:30 Here Comes th Bride. 8:00 Hopalong Cassidv. 8:30 Fishing it Hunting Club of th Atr. 9:00 New. 9:15 Music. 9:30 Georg Mayer Trio. 945 Fulton Lewis jr. 10:00 Th Falcon. 10:30 Music. 11:00 Curfew Club. 11:30 Sign Off. Two Methods For Mosquito Control Given There are two step In control ling mosquitoes, explains Coun ty Sanitarian Claude Baker. One Is the destruction of the treeding places, and the other is the de struction of adult mosquitoes. Breeding places may be con trolled by drainage or the appli cation of prepared chemical so lutions. One good chemical solu tion is a prepared 25 percent DDT concentrate in special sol vents. This can be purchased lo cally. To make a five percent solution, dilute one gallon of the concentrate with four gallons of fuel or dlesel oil. This should be sprayed liberally over the sur face of the water. Adult mosquitoes may be de stroyed by spraying DDT prep arations in and around buildings, woodland areas, grass areas, and various resting places of mos quitoes. Some of the methods re quire community action, but us ually Individuals can obtain re lief with comparatively little cost and simple equipment. The spraying of vegetation sur rounding buildings, as well as the building itself, to as to leave a poisonous film on the surface will reduce mosquito annoyance for several weeks. The DDT wettable powder or emulsion at a concen tration of 2.5 percent in water is recommended. This spray can he applied with sprayers or orchard power spray ers. Door and window screen and places where mosquitoes rest should also be treated.
