She the scene of a lovely wedding Saturday, July 2, when Miss Ada Lowry, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Kruse, of Roscburg, be came the bride of Vernon Grant Bonebrake, of Roscburg. Rev. H. P. Sconce performed the Im pressive ceremony at two o'clock In the presence of a large num ber of friends and relatives. Floor baskets filled with phlox, gypsophelia, gladioli and while lilies, flanked by candelabra hold ing tall white tapers, formed the background. Mrs. Homer Grow, organist, played softly on the organ as the guests assembled and accompani ed Mrs. Jessie Crenshaw, who sang, "I Love -You Truly," and "Because." She played the Bridal Chorus from Lohengrin for the bridal party to take its place at the altar and at the close of the ceremony, she played Mendel ssohn's Wedding recessional. Given In marriage by Wayne Crooch, the bride was beautiful In a gown of white nylon marqui sette fashioned with a full train; long sleeves coming to a point at the wrist and a ruffle Inset In the skirt edged with lilies of the valley as was the neckline. Her fingertip veil was held In place carried a white orchid on a white Bible. Oneida Hodson was matron of honor and wore a yellow gown and a corsage of gardenias. Bridesmaids were Miss June Mc Gregor, Miss Peggy Urban and Miss Mary Ann Stritzke, who wore pale blue gowns with gar denia corsages. Dick Bonebrake, nephew of the bridegroom, was best man and ushers were William Stock, Al bert Hooten and John Dixon. Sandra Williamson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles R. Will iamson, was flower girl and wore floor-length gown of pale green taffeta. The bride's mother wore a pink and white sheer silk dress with white accessories. The bride groom's mother wore a black and white crepe with black and white accessories. Both mothers wore corsages of . pink carnations. A reception followed In the church parlors, Beautiful ar rangements of summer blossoms formed the decorations. The bride's table, covered with an at tractive white lace cloth, was centered with a three-tiered wed ding cake topped by a miniature bridal couple. The cake was cut by the bride and bridegroom and was served by Mrs. Wayne Crooch. Mrs. Dorven Kier and Mrs. Dean Smith served punch. Mrs. Nile Leach, older sister of the bridegroom, had charge of the guest book. For traveling the bride chose a dove gray suit with white acces sories. Following a honeymoon to California, the couple will temporarily reside at Melrose. The bride, a popular member of the younger set, was graduated from Roseburg Senior high school this spring. The bride groom was graduated from Rose burg high school In 1944 and served two years In the U. S. Navy. For the last year, he h'is been employed by Umpqua Ply. wood company. Out-of-town guests attending the wedding were Mrs. Nile Leach and family from Port Angeles, Wash.; Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Riddle of Riddle, uncle and aunt of the bridegroom; Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Payne, Sweet Home, Ore., maternal grandparents of the -bride; Mrs. C. H. Day Jr., of Portland, aunt of the bride, and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Miller and daughter, of Port Angeles. Mrs. Miller Is a niece of the bridegroom. 8UN8HINE CLUB MEETS AT DELIGHTFUL POTLUCK PICNIC LUNCHEON A delightful potluek picnic luncheon was enjoyed by the Northside Sunshine club mem bers in the attractive garden of Miss Elizabeth Paul. The table was decorated with a bouquet of Bird of Paradise flowers. Covers were placed for Mrs. W. O. Patterson, Mrs. Lucia In gles. Mrs. George Frew. Mrs. William Stlewlg, Mrs. E. E. PINK AND BLUE SHOWER IS CHARMING A charming pink and blue shower party was given Friday at the home of Mrs. E. E. Van Horn In honor of Mrs. Vcrna Van Horn. Several musical se lections were presented by Myr tle Glenn and Bertna Burner. Highlight of the program was the Hawaiian hula dance given by Reba Buttler. Dr. Morris H. Roach performed the impressive ceremony at 8 o'clock in the presence of the bride's parents and the bridegroom's mother. The bride was attractive tn a white linen dress suit with green Mr. and Mrs. Elvis Holt accessories. Her corsage was of red rosebuds. Miss Joyce Quine was maid of honor and wore a red and white flowered jersey dress with a corsage of garden ias. Martin McClay Jr., was best man.
