Pearson has returned to his home on Reservoir Avenue in RoseburR, following the weekend at Nesko win with Mrs. Pearson and their daughter, Mary Lynne, who are spending several weeks vacation ing there. Home From Vacation Mr. and Mrs. Chester Morgan and sons. John and David, nave re turned to their home in Laurel wood, following a vacation trip to Alaska. During their absence, their home was occupied by Mr. and Mrs. S. E. Gruver. Vlsltlna at Klelit Home Mrs. Marlowe McKay and children, Lynn and Gary, of Mill Valley, Calif., have been visiting the last two and a half weeks with Mrs. McKay's parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. D. Klcist. Mrs. McKay is the former Eileen Klelst. Mr. McKay will come to Roseburg Sunday to take his family back to Califor nia. Visiting From St. Louis Mrs. E. T. Harris of St. Louis. Mo., is spending several weeks in Rose burg visiting her sister-in-law, Mrs. Anna Wofford and her niece, Mrs. Verdun Boucoek and family. Mrs. Wofford and Mrs. Boucoek and two sons Jerry and Roger, drove to Eugene last Thursday to meet the train and bring Mrs. Harris to Roseburg. Ryan, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Krewson and Mr. and Mrs. Allen Cordon, who re cently left for the east with the Elks ritualistic team to attend the Elks national convention, have gone on cast to Washington, D. Will Take Vacation Mr. and Mrs. Gene Kent of Roseburg plan to leave Thursday for the Wallo wa mountains to enjoy a week's camping in the Wallowa national forest. They will be met at Wal lowa lake by Mike McFetridge, who owns a dude ranch there and who will pack them into the mountains. Visit Lawaon Home Mr. and Mrs. Walter Leazenby of Anadar ko, Okla., accompanied by Mrs. Edna Drummond and daughter, Jane, of Oklahoma City, visited in Roseburg at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Lawson and family, following a three weeks vacation trip to Camaa, Wash., and McMinnvllle, Ore., visiting relatives and friends. They re- norted a most enjoyable time and were greatly enthused over this part oi tne country, iney siatea they saw quite a change here since their previous visit 38 years ago. Visit Leonard Home Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Leonard of Roseburg have had as guests at their ranch on the Wilbur Umpaua road, Miss Eleanor and Bill Evashenko of Chicago and Mr. and Mrs. Philip Evashenko and Andrew Evashen ko of North Dakota. Mrs. Leon: ard is a sister of the Evashen- kos.. They also visited a sister and brother, Mrs. J. P. Nemi rouich and Philip Evashenko in Eugene. They were accompanied back bv .Mrs. Nemlrouich, who will go to Velva, N. D to visit her parents. They stopped In Salt Lake City, Minneapolis and other points on tne trip. Tennis Devotees Organize Club A Rosebure Tennis club was formed Monday night at a meet ing of local players held at the Rosebure high school courts, ac cording to Marlen Yoder, Y. M. j. A. general secretary. It was decided to try and get matches with Eugene. Medford and Ashland, if at all possible. Six singles and three doubles will be played when the club is traveling, so that all who go can play singles and doubles. When matches are played In Roseburg; other persons may play singles and doubles so that more will get a chance to compete. Yoder stressed that anyone de siring to enter the club may do so oy contacting mm or one oi the club members. Club members decided that competitors reaching the semi finals in the men's tournament Just completed will play the first four positions and tne remaining ones will try for the other two positions. The first of five ses sions, named "Forty Niners," opens the second summer of out door camping for Douglas county Camp Fire Girls in the new camp site on the North Umpqua river, Just 26 miles west of Koseourg. Miss Lois Fltzeibbons. director, arrived at the camp Saturday and with the other counsellors, who motored to the camp Friday for two days training, set the sched ule in motion without a flaw as parents left for Roseburg after transporting their girls to the camp In the afternoon. Miss Shirley White of Canyon vllle has been added to the camp staff. A senior life saver, she will assist on the waterfront. Cabins were given names late Sunday and after an opening evening camp fire the girls re tired to Degin eany rvionaay morning a week crammed with fun, friends and activities. Attending are Camp Fire Girls from Roseburg, Melrose, Riddle, Umpqua, Canyonvllle, Dillard and Winston. Parents are re minded that visiting is limited to Sunday and that treats for the camp may be left at the Roseburg Meat market. Girls attending camp next week began physical examinations today and will con tinue tomorrow at the health of fice in the county court house.
